The best band ever to come out of Sweden is definitely Bathory... I am pretty sure that Quorthon kicked Chuck Norris' ass... Twice...

Worthy but omitted bands include (but are probably not limited to): Obscurity, Funeral Mist, Triumphator, Candlemass and Nifelheim

Probably half, or over half, of my favourite metal bands come from this one country.

Sweden has a lot of great bands for sure. Even though I'm not so crazy about the whole Göteborg melodic death metal thing there are still a swarm of good bands. I'm just a Bathory (1983-1989) fanboy. And everybody should check out Obscurity's Damnations Pride EP this instant! But get that 'melo' out of my freakin' Death Metal...
