The best band ever to come out of Sweden is definitely Bathory... I am pretty sure that Quorthon kicked Chuck Norris' ass... Twice... Worthy but omitted bands include (but are probably not limited to): Obscurity, Funeral Mist, Triumphator, Candlemass and Nifelheim |

Worthy but omitted bands include (but are probably not limited to): Obscurity, Funeral Mist, Triumphator, Candlemass and Nifelheim Talking about the best [metal] band to come out of Sweden is like talking about the best hockey player to come out of Canada... Probably half, or over half, of my favourite metal bands come from this one country. Sverige ar METAL. (Jag talar lite svenska). |

Sweden has a lot of great bands for sure. Even though I'm not so crazy about the whole Göteborg melodic death metal thing there are still a swarm of good bands. I'm just a Bathory (1983-1989) fanboy. And everybody should check out Obscurity's Damnations Pride EP this instant! But get that 'melo' out of my freakin' Death Metal...
