Thoughts?

BTW, this is actually a more recent article about it. If you archive Fox's news reports, you can probably find the original story. But I think you get the idea.

Don't care. I've heard all about how the Fox anchor insisted on placing this in importance above the Russia/Georgian war... more proof of how ridiculous that TV station is. Plus, anything that held the Clintons away from the White House is a good thing, imho.

Seriously, the situation is so different between here and there... we've had plenty of MPs getting up to naughty things, and the only ones who care are the gutter press. Does it really make that much of a difference if they have affairs? Better than outright lying, as our former generallismo and your soon-to-be-former generalissimo have done throughout their careers.

Is anyone surprised a politician or, for that matter, a man cheated on his wife?

Suppose he was elected and then everybody found out about this. It would really make him look bad. Particularly when you consider the fact that his wife has terminal breast cancer.

Which makes him a giant fucktard I'd like to beat the living crap out of. However, this says nothing about his political abilities. Just a question: is he still very active in the political scene in the US?

Definitely sucks that he cheated on his wife, but who really cares about some man's private life other than his family ? it's called private for a reason you know...

Cheating on his wife, has nothing to do with political skills and why do Americans expect a political leader or president to be a perfect person in his personal life when more Americans than I can count are not ? The guy made a mistake ( and a mistake that has no consequence , except for his own family) , everybody makes mistakes, learn to forgive and turn the page. We should keep our noses in our own business.

Shame on all those low level media "rags" that thrive and live on this sort of information.

yeah it would, but i don't think a politician's private life matters as long as they do a good job. i'd imagine the media and most people disagree with me on that though

They also wasted in no time in pointing out how Edwards had endorsed Obama, with the barely implicit message being "Obama is friends with a bad person who cheated on his wife. Obama friend bad, obama frend bad, obama frnd bad, obama fnd bad, obama fd bad, obama f bad, obama bad"

He became an Obama supporter, and it's now rumored that he may become Obama's running mate.

I disagree for two reasons:

1. If the president looks bad, so does the rest of the country. The Monica Lewinsky case about ten years ago demonstrated this quite nicely.

2. His questionable private life could be indicative of an ethically questionable presidency.

Because we don't currently have one of those now.

JFK had an affair with Marilyn Monroe and JFK is beloved. People cheat on their significant others a lot and I don't think it should have anything to do with politics but that's just me.

I'll have to disagree with you.

1. Yeah cheating looks bad, but the media made it look worse than it really was. Clinton isn't a perfect man and neither are American citizens, so why expect perfection when it doesn't exist ?

2. Clinton lied about cheating, and Bush lied about massive arms of destruction yet Clinton is the guy who recieved massive critics and threats of impeachment and Bush stands still unscathed or mostly. Tell me which of Bush or Clinton had the most ethically questionable presidency up to now ?

That's 'cuz Marilyn Monroe whas a hot celebreity and shagging her made JFK 'cool'.

She was basically an older Paris Hilton if I understand correctly, so it does not really make anyone cool.

At least she could act decently. Paris Hilton does nothing.
But the point I was trying to make is that JFK shagged a celebrity, a pop icon, which makes him a hero in the eyes of many.
