Whether we like to admit it or not, I think we all have our favorite "Chick Flix." So why not spill our guts and make a thread discussing our favorites?

Here are mine:

Fast Times At Ridgemont High (my personal favorite - also a golden opportunity to see Sean Penn before becoming a hippie liberal activist).

Sixteen Candles

The Breakfast Club

American Pie

Mean Girls (before Lindsey Lohan became a wannabe Paris Hilton)

No way is Fast Times a chick flick. Just a classic movie showing the way times were. Same with The Breakfast Club.

I'll say As Good As it Gets. Classic Nicholson movie.

I dunno. I guess I tend to typically associate teen movies as chick flicks. I watched Fast Times just last night, actually (I watch it about once a year).

Mean Girls was ok.

My choice will be: There's something about Mary

People have a really bad definition of what a chick flick is.

As for me, I enjoy most chick flicks with John Cusack, like Must Love Dogs or Serendipity, sadly.

Yeah, those aren't chick flicks.

These three movies are not chick flics, they are teen classics for a generation ( SC & BC 80's while pie 90's)

The only chick flicks that I like that really comes to mind are "Ten Things I Hate About You" and "The Notebook"

I have a GF who likes those kind of movies the most, so I have seen quite a few, they are not all that bad though. Some I liked are:

Down With Love
Mean Girls
The Family Stone
Garden State
Jerry Maguire
In Good Company (Mostly because Scarlett Johanssen is fucking hot)
The Girl Next Door

I don' t see how The Girl Next Door is a chickflick as it's target audience was clearly young males....

as for Jerry Maguire and Garden State are appealing for both genders IMO, particularly "Jerry" due to it's football sequences and world.

My AP Lang teacher would call chick flicks "FOMPs" for Female Oriented Motion Pictures. That's so PC.

Haven't seen too many of them, to be honest. Garden State was alright, though.

I was kinda on the borderline of whether or not I should have put The Girl Next Door, oh well. To add a few more I just remembered:

The Holiday
While You Were Sleeping
Prime

While You Were Sleeping

Great chickflick, Bullock was very cutesy in that movie.

Yeah, I like Bullock as an actress, another one more recent that I liked was The Lake House. I guess I do like quite a few chickflicks.

I watched Coyote Ugly with this girl I was going out with a while back and enjoyed it, watched it on my own and realised she was just making me gay.
