Did anybody catch the finals?

I'm wearing a yellow shirt with a purple tie today for work in memory of the Lakers.

Yeah, I guess its cool that KG and Pierce finally get rings, they're both class guys and deserve it. Just sucks that now we're going to have to hear the "Boston - City of Champions" bullshit over and over from the chowdaheads. I was rooting for the Lakers too, since I actually like Kobe. At heart, I'm still a Pacers fan, though.

I'm kind of a LeBron-fan myself so I was not incredibly interested in the finals. When the finals started I was rooting for the Lakers but seeing how the games progressed I'm convinced beyond doubt that the B.Celtics deserved the championship.

Congratulations to them for an amazing year, a ring-worthy team and a well-deserved championship.

I agree with you on KG but, I completely disagree about Peirce. I can't stand the guy. I think Allen and Garnet both deserve the ring, and Allen should've been finals MVP. I've always thought he was underrated. Peirce is such a wanna be thug. I know he is active in the church, but his antics scream poser. Plus I think he is a crybaby on and off the court.

Yeah, I was more referring to those two because they both were loyal to shitty teams for many years (KG to the T-Wolves before the trade). Plus, other players speak very highly of Pierce's work ethic, similar to Garnett's. Allen deserves a ring too, but he has bounced around a bit in his career, not that that's a problem. I just didn't want to include him in the same vein.

Oh well, time to look forward to the draft now. Hopefully, the Pacers can get a point guard so they can give that piece of shit Tinsley his walking papers.

I'm a Suns fan hardcore, but I was rooting for the Celtics and I'm glad they won. I like Garnett and Pierce, and I'm also a fan of Eddie House. Plus, I hate the Lakers...the Gasol trade was absolute bullshit, not to mention that he's a total pussy. Sasha Vujacic is also one of the biggest assholes/whiners in the league.

EDIT: Just found this...

What the fuck is Kevin Garnett talking about? hahahaha

Being myself a Lakers fan, it sucks they wound up losing. Nonetheless, I like the Celtics too (even though I don't keep up with them as much). So it isn't a total loss.

I was to young to remember the Bird/Magic rivalry, so I don't look at this as a rivalry anymore. That is why I too can say I'm a Celtics fan. However, if they continue to meet in the finals, or if something caused tension between the two teams... I would very qiuckly become anti-Celtics.

Those finals were NOT okay with me. :(

I'm a die-hard Lakers fan, and that was a devastating loss. Not only did they beat us, they killed us... in the finals? LA was not a happy place that night, and a while after. To see Kobe cry was awful - at least he had an amazing year other than that with MVP and a gold medal at the Olympics. But 2009 is made for LA. Now that Bynum is back, the golden 5 are back in action and definitely going to steal the championship.
