Tried it without, but for some reason my cheese n'salad sarny tastes much nicer when smothered in Heinz's finest. It feels sort of a faux pas, though, so am I alone in this?

Updated.

Damn right. Real men use real mayo. As I did in that sandwich. Which I finished, and was very tasty. You naysayers don't know what you're missing.

No, just cheese. If it was ham and cheese, then the title of this thread would be altogether different, now, wouldn't it?

Depends of the cheese... Generally, and speaking as a French person, I would say no, but with a little salad, tomatos and some cheddar (no French cheese with mayonnaise), sure, it works.

See, a conoisseur. Agreed completely, it was cheddar in the sandwich and no, I'd never put mayo with French cheese. Like ketchup on steak!

They're pretty awesome, aren't they? And yes, I have, a nice combination.

When I lived in Spain, there was something my Da used to make called alley-olley, basically mayonnaise with garlic and some other stuff mixed in. Lovely, great with paella. People into paella here?

I went to make a grilled ham and cheese with mayo... once the sandwich was done grilling I went for the fridge to get the mayo out. ...there was no mayo, this is a horrible day.
