Zao when they opened for In flames in 06, my first initial thought was they were a local opening band in the Phoenix Area.
They suck

Psycroptic when they opened the Arizona metal fest last week.

Lordi at Ozzfest. They were in a festival seating amphitheatre with this dinky ass pyro show and the music was just so simplistic and uninteresting. Gwar owns them so hard.

This is a pretty subjective topic, but I'm my experience, it's the band of Lauren Harris, Steve Harris daughter. I suffered immensely that night, but everything was compensated later hearing the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner live. :dio:

Ha THIS ^

when she was playing here, half way through her set we all just started chanting for Overkill.

There was this one band, can't remember what they were called, they opened for Kreator and Napalm Death. First off the music sucked, and the band was all pro everything. They were playing their songs, and in between each one they'd tell us to go to their table in the back and grab flyers se we can help save the rainforest and stop animal cruelty.

Thankfully the show was saved by a Tormentor/Betrayer medley follwed by Flag of Hate. :dio:

I'd a similar experience. 5 years ago there was this local gig, and various bands from all over the state came here, about 30 bands more or less. In the middle of one of the 'shows', one of the band members of a gay hardcore band, started talking about the importance of condoms, safety and shit. And then he began to throw condoms to the audience, annoying everyone. Then, from nowhere (maybe it was God) a magical bottle of beer flew through the air and literally exploded in the guys face. And everybody was laughing and screaming of joy. It was one of the better moments in my life :P

hardcore bands that talk about political causes between songs are cute. i want to start one and do that, except instead of talking about politics, yell about how you have to unite to slay the dragon and overthrow the evil magician and stuff.

Grey Daturahs opening for Neurosis was probably the worst for me. they got a 45 minute set and just made droning noise the whole time. their lead guy/guitarist tried to be all "i'm getting so into it i'm breaking shit" except he didn't want to actually break anything, so he was tapping his guitar into his amp and into the floor for the last 20 minutes and it looked silly.

I love Lordi. I wish they'd hook up with GWAR and tour together. It'd be a sick show.

I had a few friends in highschool who were riding the hardcore wave at the time and they were all about Zao. I'll never understand how anyone can listen to that shit.

My worst opener would be Throwdown opening for In Flames a couple years ago. They were some awful toughguy hardcore shit that had way too much of a Pantera influence... It was awful.

I would have a hard time picking between all the shitty bands I've seen on the 2nd stage at the two Ozzfests I attended. Let's see: Atreyu, Bury Your Dead, Otep, Every Time I Die, Hatebreed, Magna-Fi, Wicked Wisdom, Gizmachi, A Dozen Furies, It Dies Today, etc, etc, etc.

All were painfully bad live, as you would probably expect.

Horse the Band. He opened their set by saying how much the town was a shitty stinkhole, and that the entire audience were inbred hicks. This was before they played a single note, so it wasn't like he was reacting to a chilly reception. He just decided to blast the entire audience for no reason. Now, I've seen worse bands live, but that guy takes the cake when it comes to egotistical douchebaggery.

I like Horse the Band but that is about the dumbest move I've heard. What a dumbshit.

Phil Anselmo exuded the most douchebaggery of any live performer I've seen. Mind you it was with Superjoint Ritual, so maybe he isn't always like that, but damn if he wasn't the very definition of annoying when I saw him.

And yet if Devin Townsend did it, you'd all be giggly fangirls.

I think it's awesome anyway, providing the audience actually was composed of inbred hicks.
