Every so often whilst using it (say, once/twice in a four-hour interval?) I get a blue-screen crash on my home PC. I've been ignoring it, since I'm like that, but could it be because I'm using 4GB of RAM on a Vista 32 system? I did have 64 and it ran very smoothly, but due to the fact that the retards in the pc store where I got it from installed the 32 bit version after replacing my HDD instead, and that formatting and restarting would have lost my final Office 07 licence, I've been toiling with V32. I also use an external 1TB HD for mp3s, and almost always have it in use due to listening to music, could that be the cause somehow? And is anyone using Windows 7 yet, and will installing the beta fuck my system up irrevocably or can I return to my previous set-up? Cheers in advance. |

32 bit processors/OSes can't use 4GB of RAM, only 64 bit ones can. From the sounds of it the OS is the problem. |

But doesn't it just ignore the extra, or use 3.5? I've been through so much shit with that place, serious   if I have to get V64 again. Might just go for W7.

What does it say? Maybe I can help out. Learned quite a bit for having the same problem.. What are your specifications? |

Vista 32, obviously, then Athlon 64 Dual Core 3.22 Ghz, 4GB RAM. The message has one of those nonsensical strings of numbers and text that I think refers to some memory address, but it always restarts before I can write it down. Before, it seemed to be triggered by Firefox, so I switched to Chrome, which is a massive improvement but it still crashes every so often. |

Which graphic card do you have? Do this: Open your start menu - Right Click on Computer - Go to System Protection - Press the advanced fan - the last coloumn there should say boot and recovery or something - click settings and uncheck the automatic reboot box in the window that appears. Next time the Blue Screen happens, you'll be able to read what it says. I also need some other stuff to analyze it but we'll start with the top text saying something like XXX_XXX_XXX (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL for example). |

September. The place truly fucked up; the power supply died within a few months, then the HD failed. I've had the external HD less than a year. I'm sorry, my stuff should last longer than the life cycle of a fucking mayfly. And shit backed up. I save every other word. |

Nvidia causes a lot of BSOD's (Blue Screen of Death). Try updating your driver, if not, roll it back then install a new update. If that doesn't work I will need your minidump so I can analyze and it may help to find the cause. |
