So, you guys with many many CDs in your collection. How do you keep them organized? Where do you put them all? I'm starting to get into some space issues with mine, :/ ![]() (roughly 350cds) .:crast:. |

A lot of mine are piled in the spare room. And when I say piled, I mean literally. |

How do you find that specific album that you happen to want to listen to? I'm a bit anal with my CDs, so they're all ordered alphabetically, ![]() .:crast:. |

Well, I hardly ever listen to actual CDs any more - I rip everything onto my external 1TB hard disk and just use my PC as an mp3 station. It works well enough. |

I've got a bunch of 200 or so capacity CD wallets that I keep in my closet with the artwork in front of each disc. I usually have one in my truck, but I rip them all to mp3 on my 500GB external hard drive and use it everywhere else, ala Zad. |

At the moment, all packed in boxes in the cellar. Otherwise, alphabetically shelved. However I'll start listening to 'em and leaving them around the place. |

When I get a place big enough I do intend to have them all on shelves, alphabetically organised. External HDDs do save a helluva lot of room, though. |

I have a small cabinet thingy that holds roughly 300 CDs and from the looks of it I can really only buy about 10 more albums and it will be full. Which for now is fine, as I've been collecting more vinyls this year than CDs... Got the latest 3 Inches of Blood on vinyl last night at the concert which is pretty sweet ![]() |

I just have a section of a wall with some shelving that I use for my CDs. I organize them alphabetically by band with the albums I own from each respective band organized chronologically. |

Roughly the same as Zad, but a bit neater. Packed up in several boxes. I think I have about 400 to 500, I'll need to get a decent census in before I buy furniture for it. |

I've lost count, but I use the old school case logic. I've been meaning to switch back to jewel cases since I have the room for them now though. |

Same exactly for me, actually. I guess I probably have somewhere between 500 and 600 CDs... I have a database that I keep regularly updated indexed to genre and year etc., so if anyone sneaks up on me and shouts "name me your top 5 death metal albums from 1993 or I'll kill you", I can do it in a few clicks. As for storage, I have half of them here stacked in no particular order in racks that are now overflowing so I need more. The rest are dumped in a box in my old room at my parent's house... |

have a couple of 100-200 cd books, 5 to be exact. Keep them in there, not really in any order. But I do keep all albums by 1 band together. the cases are in sveral different holders/stand/shelves/wherever I can find room. Will be the biggest bitch when I move. |

Alphabetically, with the CDs by each artist in chronological order (seems obvious I know, but my flatmate organises that alphabetically as well, weirdo). To do this I have two racks, followed by a double rack, followed by a smaller single rack, then an even smaller wooden rack, then a cabinet, then four big piles on and around my CD player, then two smaller piles on top of the cabinet. My EPs, demos and bootlegs are kept in a small drawer. Haven't counted in a couple of years but I'd guess somewhere in the neighbourhood of 600 or so CDs. EDIT: Madprops to crast for the Misfits coffin box. Been casually looking to find that at a decent price somewhere. |

I have a couple CD books. Honestly, I'm a bad person and I DL most music. I buy a few CD's here and there, but it's not even close to what I have downloaded. I have maybe 400 albums bought, and close to 900 on my computer. |

They're stacked in various places around my room. The ones I listen to lots are in 3 stacks next to the CD player while most of the others are under my desk. |
