did anyone see that metal themed episode of skins
i found it quite stupid and idiotic to a point offensive because of it's over generalization of the culture and some shit about some really heavy band that makes you deaf called aborted fetuses which is probably a reference to dying fetus but at least they had napalm death though
what did you guys think

Never watched Skins, nor do I have any intention to. I really don't care how some moronic teen-themed television serial chooses to depict metal.

I watched it, coincidentally, brother had it on, seeing ND was a nice surprise. The whole program is ridiculous and boring in general (quite an achievement) but my main problem here was minor. Always annoyed by when mainstream programs like this depict extreme metal as sounding utterly chaotic, like Wolf Eyes or some such. There's a scene where the metalhead puts something like that on really loud and goes temporarily deaf - if you listen to any music at that volume you'll damage your hearing, I thought. They did their research, at least - Mayhem patch on his jacket, Napalm Death appearance - and it wasn't really as offensive as juannaman is making out. The character was a mumbling moron but all teenagers are.

Apparently Skins is being remade for you Americans and has already offended church groups, so no doubt you'll be hearing all about it closer to release.

Yeah, done by MTV no less. No matter what the country, though, I still couldn't give two fucks about it.

The only sentence I spoke in high school was when they put me in a group with some special needs kid and I promptly quit and this girl asked me why I quit and I said "I don't want to."

that sums up my high school days

well goat is probably right
it's not as offensive to metalheads as i made it out but it was probably like goat mentioned aswell about how they loved making extreme metal chaotic instead of playing bands like death or morbid angel and how they always have some crappy nu metal song at some point

after reading about it, not watching it not going to waste my time, i'd agree with what people already said. Skins generalized metal culture that made it appear destructive, not just in how it sounds, but also in what it does to young people in that it makes them complete emo hipsters. i did find myself relating to the character in regards to being socially inept in high school, but not at all the way it was portrayed.
