How do you say in English when you pay those costs when you live in a flat? You know, you pay a sum to the building administration for garbage, elevator etc... those expenses. Dictionaries can't seem to help. I need to translate something urgently, so quick help is much appreciated. I've been considering boarding, but its for a company headquarters, not a person... |

Service charges? Maintenance charges? Don't think there's a more specific term, it's referred to as service charges in all the leases I've seen, which then break it down into insurance, etc. |

English isn't my first language, but I think Goat got it right. Service/maintenance charges seems to be the most possible term. |

Thank you. Yeah, it seems English doesn't have a specific word for this, in my language there is one, hence the confusion. |

According to Australian pop hucksters Midnight Oil, "rent" is used in Aus, so we can assume they learned it in the UK. Normally paying the management a fee for services is called a "(insert type of housing) association fee." |

A little late, but in my experience those are "utilities fees", like gas, electric, garbage, maintenance, etc... |
