I saw someone mention "Circus Maximus" (the band) and it got me thinking about my trip to Rome a few years ago where you can still walk around Circus Maximus.


So what countries have you been to (not including airport change overs?

USA - want to do a big RV trip. I think the US would make for an awesome driving holiday.

Egypt/Israel/Jordan/Syria/Tunisia/Turkey/Lebanon - if they ever gfet their shit sorted and stopped being such stupid fucking assholes.

Mexico/Central America - especially all the Maya/Aztec stuff. I was meant to go about 7 years ago but it fell apart after the people I was going with went through a messy divorce.

However current plans are to have a kid, then wait until it's 10 and take the little guy/girl on a big trip to Europe!

You Europeans are so lucky! It cost us about $2,000 per person and 20+ hours of flying time just to get to Europe!

Lived in England, Wales and Spain, been around Europe but not out of it.

Yeah, it's unfair. Most countries in Europe are smaller than most states or provinces in USA or México. I would've visited like 30 countries then... There's a lot yet to discover in my own country that I don't think I'll travel abroad soon.

Passed through Germany, Austria and Switzerland when I was, like, 8. I've been to Italy too.

...And that's about it, I believe.

Never been out of the states... I just went to Cali for the first time this year!

I don't have much interest in Australia. I've driven Sydney-Melbourne (877 km) and it's boring as bat shit. Country is generally flat and every town is the same.

My wife's been up to Northern Queensland and it doesn't change all that much other than never ending sugar cane and more tropical vegetation.

And the inland of the country is just red scruby desert or pasture for thousands of kilometres.

My in-laws have seen just about every corner of Australia and especially the father-in-law whose worked for mining exploration countries in the wildest parts of the continent.

They say that Tasmania where we live is the most pretty and most interesting of all Australia - land is diverse (mounthainous, flat, lots of rivers etc) and there's a bit of history and old world charm still left.

Born and lived in Kuwait till I was 14 and from then on in India. I plan to visit different countries someday. Maybe after I retire.

We have all climates and land types here in México. Just in Michoacán, my state, we have mountains with pine forests, tropical beaches, valleys with rivers and some desertic landscapes. It's a shame that all this richness is wasted due to bad goverment and the wars of the druglords. The US is to blame too, because they are always interfering and manipulating our corrupted governors and politicians, and sending tons and tons of weapons. That's their "support" in the drug wars, fuckin' hypocrites.

Anyway, you're welcome to come, we can go on a tour to the archeological sites. One of my favorites is Tulum, a Mayan pyramid in the atlantic coast, near Cancún. The beauty is beyond words... Or we can go to the north and eat peyote, or mushrooms in Michoacán or Oaxaca. Another plus is that mexican beers are really tasty, just ask MetalNESS or Azrael.

yeah, love Mexican beer! there are tons of widely-available Mexican brands and i tasted and liked almost all of them (although coming from basically 2 breweries lol).

i'm European, but compared to people here and many of my friends i haven't really been able to take advantage.

England - a semester in Nottingham. the weather is depressing, the food is terrible, the women are ugly and god damn it why do they have such massive 2p coins?!
Mexico - had the time of my life here, spent a semester in Monterrey and traveling all over i almost cried when i left and dreamed i was back there a couple of times. definitely want to return. such an amazing place, AlexandeR is completely right.
France - now living in Toulouse! loving it

in the future, ii want to discover Asia (far-east and south-east), Latin America and the Middle East too, plus New Zealand which i've been told is awesome.

On Mexican beer: it is really a shame that most Americans think of Corona, I would love to sample the authentic stuff.

Born in the USA, been through, and lived in, much of the eastern third, also saw parts of the Southwest. Many places I've never seen though...it is a big country.

Was in Bergen in for a sunny afternoon in August. I was in some central park surrounded by the beautiful homes on the hills cascading upwards out of the city. Just looked lovely is all.
