I believe he's gay and he's proud about it. I mean, he's into Protest the Hero and Krallice and defends them to death. That's proof enough for me. |

Oh, story time. My friend Bonnie is queer and active in LGBT rights within school systems here. She taught middle school children but was fired for simply being gay which I find repulsive because she never did anything wrong, they just found out. She was marching in Cincinnati's pride parade and needed more people to hold signs and banners and called me. When I got there they gave me a free shirt and she loved it so I wore it. I later learned that they had one with a cat on it but a shirt advertising how much I love pussy sounded way too Abercrombie for my tastes. I'm straight but was in a gay pride parade. It's what you do. |

I've been unfortunate enough to have seen one of these events in the Bay Area... it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen... men walking around with nothing but a sock over the wang, people in assless chaps, people on leashes... how in the world is anybody supposed to take that shit seriously? I (and most people) don't care what two adults do in their own bedroom, but this militant, inyourfuckingface we're here, we're queer bullshit is lame, and really just puts people off. I mean walking around with a shirt that states "I love cocks"? Really? Tasteless and vulgar. |

I actually agree with V to some extent on the vulgarity of some parades, some gay pride events included. I'm all in favor of LGBT rights and so on, no problem, but seriously, vulgar display of poor taste and obscenity in public does nothing to me except pissing me off. I don't think it serves discriminated people, to be honest. However trapt, kudos for supporting a friend (what happened to her is outrageous). |

If you don't want to see it, don't watch it. Plain and simple. Now, the Gay Pride in Moscow, that's something else... |

Tasteless and vulgar. Absolutely. And it enforces negative stereotypes about homosexuals. It is cool that you went for your friend though, trapt. |

Wearing a shirt that says i <3 cocks reinforces negative stereotypes that what? Gay men like dick? There are so many, so many trashy shirts you can buy at the mall for heterosexual boys with sexual innuendo about getting drunk and fucking being marketed to kids. "Rub me for good luck" is one that comes to mind. How is it any different? And gay pride parades are often obnoxious. But essentially for political reasons. There is a shock value in being obnoxiously gay in a community. It is liberating for them. We listen to bands that crucified hookers on stage, soaking them in blood and smearing animal meat on them, i.e., Gorgoroth, who the fuck are we to judge if they run around with their dick in a sock, like RHCP did for a whole tour, no? For listening to extreme metal, you fucks are conservative. And thanks for the kudos, kids who said props. |
