So I was wondering how come so little people post there? Have you simply stopped buying records and albums or do you just don't feel like posting your purchases anymore? There's really only me, Walnut, Mike (Raven), and I think that's pretty much it. Stefan used to post regularly but he doesn't post much at all nowadays in any thread! |

No money. Enjoying the silence, or just listening to old albums/youtube. |

To both of you: aren't you guys graduated? (I know Trapt is going for his doctorate). Emperor, weren't you doing a Master's last year? Not to intrude on anyone's privacy but we have known each other for quite a few years now so I don't think it's an inappropriate question. Am I wrong? I remember Emperor had purchased a couple of albums a few months back. |

There are still countless people who buy records and tapes not to mention the regular CDs. There are millions of people who are avid collectors of music. Emperor and Trapt will be buying soon, too. |

I had about 400 cds to my collection several years ago, only added about 250 cds since then. One day I'll probably start buying more. But then again, I don't listen to music nearly as often as most of you. |

I remember Emperor had purchased a couple of albums a few months back. Yeah, I don't mind, was doing museum work part time with grad school. Battling my master's thesis at present. I had about 400 cds to my collection 7-8 years ago, only added about 250 cds since then. One day I hope to buy like you do, again. But then again, I don't listen to music nearly as often as most of you. I'm sure you will, Emperor, I'm sure you will. I don't have the best job in the world, in fact, far, far from it. I don't pay rent or pay for groceries. I don't smoke nor drink, nor do I do drugs. I don't buy clothes, nor do I pay anything for well, anything, other than albums and books. I wear the clothes I have for a long time. So pretty much all my money goes into music and knowledge. That's pretty much it. In one or two years I will be getting my own place, although, even then, things won't change much. It's a way of life. I'm sure you will buy many, many albums when you graduate ![]() Godspeed to you, you black emperor! |

I've only bought a half dozen albums this year. Albums that are favourites and new. Stopped listening to my records so buying those became less fun, started dipping into student debt so spending money became less fun, and 95% of the music I listen to nowadays is by dead people so I don't feel any need to support the artist. And I don't think I've been posting the stuff I do buy. yeah. |

This brings up an interesting point. I don't download. Why bother? Can try anything I would like to look up via youtube. It is there, the quality is usually bad, the reminder is there to eventually buy it. And yeah, DI, I have a long list of stuff to get someday. Will be fun to fulfill it |

It's not just about supporting an artist but the high passion for collecting. |

I'll be going on an mp3 spending spree soon as I need to pick up some albums that I've been meaning to get. |

I still buy music but reporting what you bought is too tedious. |

The only way I'd ever start buying music again is if I ever get a vinyl player and really like the sound of vinyl albums. But for that I'd need money, and all my money now goes into cigarettes, gas bills for chilly Scotland, and alcohol for whenever I watch the football (seriously, Aberdeen? Losing to fucking HIBS????). |

I just don't buy stuff any more, outside of the occasional live DVD. Promo material, my existing collection and Spotify more than fulfil my musical needs... |

I still buy albums, but I was always worried that you all wouldn't approve of my recent purchase of the entire Spice Girls discography (a bargain considering the store gave me a $50.00 gift card to take them off their shelves)..... ![]() Jokes aside, I suppose I can start posting there, though from the comments here it sounds like a lonely thread to post in. |

You most probably have more Jazz albums than I do! How many of them do you have? And what would be the main concentration of you collection if any? |
