I just have a pet peeve against people who think drug dealers are so evil. There are so many worse crimes in the world. I'd rather hang out with a drug dealer than a rapist or murderer. Or like a KKK member. I just see drug dealers as some guys who help me have a great time on the weekends.

legalisation would mean the stuff on the streets is of higher quality, would make drug revenues taxable, and would lower the price of drugs, removing the profitability incentive of trafficking it. this would have to be coupled with aggressive public education initiatives, and research into what leads people into drugs in the first place. i've been educated, and i know myself, and i stay away from hard drugs because i am sure that i'd let it take over my life.

Like emperorblackdoom said, you got lucky...so far..However i do consider drugdealers evil because they are fucking predatory vultures who feed and profit from people's misery. Drugdealers damn near killed my cousin and done a number on my father as well, so therefore i feel very strongly about this subject and have taken a particular dislike and disgust when it comes to drugdealers. Dealing these drugs could possibly kill people, but the dealer don't care about that does he, because all that scumbag wants is your money, if he's dealing heroin/coke/meth etc he's certainly not looking out for your best interest. I don't have an issue with people who deal in pot and marihuana and non hard drugs like that (not as much anyway) You may see drug dealers as cool, i see them as potensial murderers (those who deal in hard/synthetic drugs).

Drug dealers sell their product because of the rich pickings to be made. Legalise drugs, problem goes away. Why should the drug dealer care any more than the arms dealer, or the guy who sells paint, or I dunno, hammers? Dealers supply a product to a market - change the market, rather than trying to endlessly chase down every last trace of the product.

This, plus the total absence of advertising for it. I'd hate to see the same ads for cocaine that you can see for McDonalds for instance. Prohibition in open economies is complete nonsense, you'd have to be a child to think otherwise. You can easily prohibit anything you like in North Korea with a success rate above 95%, not in the Western countries. Individual responsibility and freedom, ffs.
