Are you serious?

yeah. What are you gonna call it a bitch beer? I never had it before and I always like cranberry...just need a drink to sip on. Not trying to get drunk as I can hardly get drunk anyways unless I have a bunch of liquor.

I wouldn't call it anything, except probably way too sweet. I don't mind Shiner's Ruby Grapefruit, but anything Leinenkugel's repulses me.

Any whiskey/scotch recommendations? gonna start to build a liquor cabinet instead of drinking bottles of Quebecois rum.

I'm partial to Glennfiddich for scotch. They're primarily a single malt ranging from 12 to 30 years and can be very pricey. In Australia the 12 year is seventy dollars for a 700ml bottle.

Ah this one isn't that sweet. The one Leinenkugel's I don't like that is too sweet is that Berry one.

Downing the last of my James Boags lagers. Wish the ABV was higher, a lot higher, as I would very much like to forget about that god awful exam I finished a couple hours ago.

Bought a bottle of Newfie rum called Screech and a bottle of scotch blend called Te Bheag. Tried some of the Te Bheag tonight and it was awful tasty.

Back into beer after being out a few weekends ago and trying a bar's guest ale. Currently sipping one of these:

It's ok but I wouldn't rate it higher than other, popular ales like hobgoblin.

Fuck mainly drinking pabst these days since it's so cheap and I don't care about getting drunk, just need some bittersweet liquid to sip on while I chill.

Had one and not drinking the type of beer too often don't know how to rate it, but didn't love it.

I've been drinking Stone's recent releases and being rather underwhelmed by them. They all just seem to taste off, which disappoints as they've been my favorite brewery up till now. Cincy has so many local breweries that whenever I go out I end up trying those more than anything else.

Same with Quebec. Grocery store I live near has a shelf for them, too, so my buying habit lately has been grabbing those at random (Dieu du Ciel, Trou du Diable, Archibald, Simple Malt, Brassuers du Monde, and Trois Mousquetaires all make highly tasty beers. Chic Choc rum, Ungava gin, and Piger Henricus gin have also treated me well.)

When I started caring about beer taste a yearish ago I was into the really dark, strong beers but now I'm moving away from those and getting into lighter fruity saisons and stinky IPAs, and instead of wanting intense/exciting flavours, I'm going for stuff that's a little calmer and just a pleasure to drink. Archibald's stuff is ideal for that. Boring but tasty.

Very slightly on the malty side, but balanced enough, which I like, sweet with a hint of smokiness nuts and chocolate or (possibly caramel) at the end.

I tend to favor the Pacific Northwest when it comes to beer, though obviously not as a rule.

Another really good American Amber / Red Ale is Prohibition Ale (Speakeasy brewery out of San Francisco), but it goes for around $12 a six pack.

Those beers, and the stout from the previous post, look like beers I'd be interested in, probably because they aren't IPAs. Being on the opposite coast makes it harder to track them down, of course.
Rarely do I have money to get proper beer, but of late I've been a fan of Saranac in upstate NY. Never met one of their non-IPAs I didn't like, wish they would focus more on them.

This is surprisingly light for its color, actually a good one for hot days.

PS-Anyone else feel the need to try Steel Reserve now?

Not into IPA's either... I won't necessarily turn down a decent one, but they never really suited me as much as the brown / amber ales, imperial stouts, etc.... do like a good wheat ale, though.
That Sarnac looks beautiful. There is a Belgian style ale called Asylum (Left Coast brewery) with an ABV of 11.8%. A bomber will get a nice buzzz going. Have to be in the right mood for a Belgian Tripel style, though.
Oktoberfest is just around the corner too, we have a nice one up here (I live in the Sierra foothills gold country not far from Tahoe), really looking forward to it.
