Canadian Netflix sucks (and retooling it to access American Netflix is basically torrenting stuff), iTunes rentals don't have a lot of things, buying DVDs is too expensive and involves owning DVDs. I feel bad not supporting stuff

You could try Red Box, though I think they only carry recent stuff (past 2 or 3 years): http://www.redbox.ca/

There's also Zip.ca which has supposedly the largest library of movies in Canada: http://www.zip.ca/DVD/Index.aspx

Both of them don't offer streaming though, only DVD/Blu-Rays. If you already have a Netflix subscription then Red Box would probably be better since you can rent individual films whereas Zip is only rental plans.

Well, you can forget about Zip now. They've shut down.

Why can't all companies learn from Louis CK and think "give us 5$, take our movie". The alternative is me not paying you at all! sigh

Realised I wanted more recent movies and signed up to Lovefilm's dvd/blu-ray by post thing (UK branch of Amazon streaming video, sorta). Must be a Canadian version? Netflix is great for bingeing on tv shows but terrible for movies.
