I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about...pick up a good pair of headphones and the iPod sounds great. Of course it's gonna sound bad with the crappy earbuds it comes with...what do you expect? Anyways, I really like my video....have yet to get all the music I want onto it, though. |

I despise mp3 players. The quality always is a little lacking. With Ipods i dont like how once you dump 300 dollars on the piece of shit you get price gauged on every single accesorie. Like the Itrip. 70 dollars for the thing and then it works worse that the 20 dollar FM tranmitter, which alas, doesn't hook onto your ipod. Anotherthing bothering me is that you can't find adapters to hook things up to your cars power any more cause its all compatible with ipod and thats it. grrrr to ipod. |

I don’t know what I would do without my iPod. My FM transmitter works fine, the battery in my iPod is yet to go bad, I listen to it all day wherever I may be, and it holds almost half my collection (20 GB). |

Anyways, I really like my video....have yet to get all the music I want onto it, though. What the problem with iPods is, is that they don't give all frequencies a fairly equal part in the range. That means that even if you do have high quality in-ear-plugs, you still have too little bass, or too much high end, etc. iRiver for example has a lot better frequency range, it's much more consistent, and therefore sounds better with good plugs. |

I used to have a Zen...it was great until it screwed up and my computer stopped detecting it so I could no longer put music on it. The iPod is a lot better than the Zen, hands down...so much goddamn easier to use. And Misha, you're probably right but I can't really hear the difference between an iPod with good plugs and a CD player with good plugs...so I prefer the iPod. |

I love that you can choose from hundreds of albums whenever you want. I hated having to think which albums to bring with my CD player... and later on, if I craved for an album that I didn't bring along, there was nothing I could do. I think it's a great purchase. Plus, my CDs stay safe at home and I obviously play them when I'm there. iPod is for travel. |

actually as far as sound quality goes the Rio Karma is the best. It has a 5 band Equalizer. It wasn't very conveinent though. Mine broke. Ever since i've been going with the ipod. I still miss the orgasmic quality of my Rio though  |
