Post subject:  The Tourney 3: Match 6, Round 1 - Crast vs Slayer of Kings

the legacy

indivisible patterns meld
chaotic , neurotic
the purity once found
now poisoned

the soul of my thoughts
behind all decisions lie
our meld, our legacy

through screams of perversion
the discovery of oneself
my chthonic mind, everlasting
in self preservation lies
our selfish ways

the thoughts and ideas dwell
within us all to gather the
feeble, and destroy

smouldering masses question our ways
nevermore, my explanation now void
tenebrous words used for dismissal
we are not of this world
we are not to be of this world

once more, the delight ruins us
disgust holds no limits

our legacy, once rare and prodigious
now collapsed and deteriorated
we are our own demise

A work in progress I guess. Lyrics take very long for me to write, by the time this ends up on the Canopy album[Serene Catharsis - recording now] it will be somewhat different. Figure May/June and you will be able to hear how this is in my mind...

Sculpting the Anti-Form (Birth of a God) wrote:
Where am I? Where? ...Am I?
Am I my own procreation unknown?
It reeks of oblivion - and strings
of thought unformed in a contenting mindset

anti-aesthetic
anaesthetic 'I'

Uniformly invisible yet clearly malformed
Am I hideous? Am I, at all?
To begin with, I will never end
And finally... not again.

anti-aesthetic
anaesthetic 'I'
sculpted with smiles
(that were) content without form.

A mirror would cast but an idea
Self-sufficient thoughts of another
Carried for all immortality
Thus spawning the divine in me.

anti-aesthetic
anaesthetic 'I'
sculpted with reverence
and formal continuation (of God)

I hope it makes some sense (it does to me). I've been depressed for an entire week as I am apparently half deaf in my left ear after a rehearsal. I haven't been able to think of much beside my fear of losing the ability to appreciate music; I'm sure some of you will understand that fear. Nevertheless, that's my poem up there, it deals with the birthing of a god, how it might regard itself, and how it depends upon others to exist in the first place. There's more to be found in there, so I hope you will make an effort to understand some of it.

Good poems, guys, I'll vote later, maybe/maybenot.

Lightning struck twice, and now, thanks to my brother and an uninvited guest, the only working computer in my home is busted. Don't know if it's fixable, but I can do small stuff from the library.

I just wanna apologize for this crap. I'll be back in the next 48hrs to confirm whether or not I'll be able to continue running this thing... Poorly as it may be. I was enjoying myself.

And thanks, Crast, for handling the posting of this business.

NFAE, if you can't (I hope you can!) keep on running this thing then maybe somebody else with the know how could.

I vote Crast, it was the atmosphere as a whole which got me...Especially this:

Quote:
once more, the delight ruins us
disgust holds no limits

Good work, though to both of you.

Hmmm...I really like both.

anti-aesthetic
anaesthetic 'I'

Definitely a cool line. I'll vote later.

Yeah, I'm not quite ready to vote yet either. Crast's lyrics strikingly remind me of Meshuggah lyrics, and that's no bad thing..

Hmmm, well I guess that I'll be the sole voter for now. :!:

Nobody has the GUTS to vote like MEN/MANLY WOMEN, they're all AFRAID.

Maybe that'll get things going.

I vote for Crast this time, I didn't find anything that personally poignant in Slayer's poem.

I wouldn't expect of you to think of yourself as a god

'Tis an exciting competition, may the best man win. I'm glad our poems are similar in length and style.

Slayer sounds like Haake, so he's the clear winner here.

Crasts was a bit more ambitious.. SOKs evoked some nice vocal deliveries and was a teeny bit tighter.

SOK. Although I think I'd vote for Crast's final version.
