Post subject:  Am I In Way Over My Head?
There is this really hot girl at work that I'm very much interested in.I haven't made my move yet because I'm not sure if I should or not.The reason why I said that is because I'm 33 and she's 19.I'm having second thoughts about this because she's young.

I'm at the stage at my life where I want to find that 1 right girl to settle down with.Now I'm not saying she is or not but there is just something about this girl I can't put my finger on.Yes she's hot,sexy and even has a nice sweet attitude and she has just about every guy at work wanting her but I can't stop thinking about her and it's driving me nuts.

The question is should I go for it,should I ask her out or am I way over my head and should find someone older.

That's a tough one, isn't it? I hate to say it, but unless this girl is giving you serious signs that she's interested in you, I'd block out those tempatations. Generally speaking, girls at her age get really creeped out, when older guys hit on them (I'd say her max age limit would be 27 and that would be pushing it). This coupled with the fact that you two work together, could make things really ackward between you two, should she decline your advances.

Yeah, sad but true. And her life propably isn't in the stage of settling down yet. I'd say back off silently unless you're up for taking a big risk.

Dude, I'll sound like an asshole saying this, but only do it if you just want sex. Personally I wouldn't do it at all. Dating a 19 year old would drive me fucking INSANE! Even just with sex, that spells out DRAAAAAMAAAAAAA!! Hahaha.

But really, this isn't a question any of us can answer. It all depends on what type of person you are. I couldn't handle the immaturity, but maybe you can, you know?

As Kuruus and others have said, you probably want to tread very lightly here, and advance only if she shows major interest. In addition, how well do you really know her personality? Again, as others have said, 19-year-old girls aren't the most mature beings, and you really don't want to put up with the shit most 19-year-olds are going to give you. In addition, does she live with her parents, or do they live nearby? And if so, does her dad have a shotgun? If so, I'd leave her alone. Trust me, most parents are going to take a very, very dim view of a man 14 years her senior getting involved with their daughter. It doesn't matter if the relationship actually works if your brains are blown out by an angry dad.

My advice: be very cautious. Think about why, exactly, you're interested in her; is she the type of person you can imagine spending lots of time with? Or is she just a particularly hot 19-year-old?

For once I agree with Eyesore on this one. A 19 year-old will be nothing but trouble. Plus, speaking from experience here, dating co-workers is never a good idea. You'll get sick of looking at each other real quick-like. People really aren't totally mature until about 22-24, nor do they know what they really want until then.

If you're looking to settle down, a girl closer to your age would be a much better idea.

Well, if it's truly what you want, you should take this very slowly indeed and be a voice of empathic understanding and patience; nineteen's still a difficult time for most and perhaps your compassion will be rewarded with something greater. I wouldn't. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't. Girls will talk, and if she gets creeped, you'll become Mr. Creepy. :( What if the oppertunity arises, again? An older hotty gets hired. What will your future co-worker think when she hears... The rumors? :P

I should have clarifed this we don't work together she works at the same store I do but she's in a different department.

I like the advice here.A mix of different opinions very sound advice.

I'm going to go ahead and persue this but like most of you said I'm doing it on a cautious level and if it don't work out then so be it.

I'd stay well away. When you're 60, she'll be 46-ish. I'd go for someone closer your own age, instead of risking a sexual harassment suit...
