Here's a couple pics. Sorry about image quality, the camera is junk. Decided to jump over to electronic drums, and after looking, went for Rolands since they seem more durable than the Yamaha brand, and I like the Roland brain layout better.

it's nice to practise at home but that will never replace REAL drums (at least, I hope...) !!!

Pyramaze "Legend of the Bone Carver"
(does anybody else think this is better than their debut ?)

Actually, they are replacing real drums.

1. Gigging. Much easier to move, set up, and tear down.

2. Sound banks. I have many more options available to me thanks to the drum brain than I would on a standard kit.

3. Setup. No need to mic all the cymbals and drums, just plug the quarter inch cable in.

Also, a lot of people need to be aware that electronic drums have made great strides since the mid 90's. They sound a lot more realistic, feel more like real drums (mesh heads, swaying cymbals), and thanks to the quality of the new kits give you a lot more options than an acoustic kit.

I have real drums, and to be honest, if I was going to buy a kit today (instead of when I did), I'd get electronic drums. They have made great strides, yes, but you pay a lot of money for them. Still, I'd love to have the freedom to play anytime that I want, and with living in an apartment the last two years, I haven't had that. :( Also, I would love to have the option of plugging a kit into my computer with ease.

Oh well, I'm certainly not going to knock real drums. I still love mine, and nothing compares to playing an acoustic kit. But at the same time, there are some more immediate benefits to electronic as well.

I've seen e-drums getting used live twice and they sounded just like the real thing both times.

We had some plans with a friend that he would get e-drums as I already have a guitar. It's kind of hard to find a place to play with real drums around here so those would be ideal.
Anyway, this might be an easy question but I was just wondering if the drums and guitar can be plugged so that both could hear them from their headphones?
