Oh man....oh man.....has anyone seen this? Seriously I felt like I needed a shower after watching it. I just felt that dirty. Although it's well made, it really does cross the line of sadism. Anyone who actually watches this film repeatedly should be kept at a distance. Savage, nasty, and very unpleasent.

I have it on DVD... It's a pretty good film, and one of the better horrors of recent times, I believe. I'm not sure whether I am a sadist though. I have sadistic thoughts but I'm too mild to put them into practice, heh.

First half - too long with nothing happening (its not often I say that about films). Second half - stupid. Okay, lots of sadism, but all coming from an invincible superman that could do anything the script required of him.

Dumb movie.

I'm taking T-Rex's word for it.

As soon as I heard "The sickest movie since the Original Texas Chainsaw" I decided it was crap. Only shitty movies need to use comparisons and hyperbole like that.

That is a bullshit tagline, but bullshit taglines are what horror films are all about. All the best ones have them...

i saw it and i hated it. the beginning, like THE REX said, was dead boring.

Man I wish I had this avatar idea earlier.

Which reminds me, time for an upgrade. :D

Wolf Creek is UK/Australian! Yes America does seem to be releasing a lot of awful horrors recently, but there are still US directors making good films, I think.

So it is. There isn't really. I liked "The Hills have Eyes" but that was a remake. Their hasn't been anything original that was even half-assed come out of these shores in quite a while. "Hostel" was OK at best, and "The Land of the Dead" was immensely dissapointing. It has to do with studios though, movies are so expensive to make these days they'd rather make "safe" garbage than take a chance on a filmmaker that has a true vision. Well, except for Uwe Boll's true vision of making the worst movies ever.

US horror sucks? Where's all the good stuff. I like horror, but hate just about all the movies I see.

Jacobs Ladder
The Omen
The Ring (The atmosphere is awesome)

{And then, I also like a few King flicks, Clive Barker's original Hellraiser, and SOME of John Carpenter's stuff is enjoyable, too. But, none of that shit is really scary, it's all more sci-fi, if you ask me.)

Recommend the good stuff from around the world. :D

Watch "Suspiria" and then "Inferno", and then "Zombie Flesh Eaters". All Italian, and the three best "modern" era horror films from mainland Europe.

As for recent US horror films... aagh ok, maybe I was too quick to defend them. I liked the Devil's Rejects though, and of the more obscure films I get a chance to see "Zombie Honeymoon" was pretty original (although it did seem to take inspiration from I, Zombie, it had more humour and more of a surfy feel). Plus Hostel was a pretty decent effort once the hideous first half hour was out of the way.

I liked Devil's Rejects too, but that's more of an action movie than straight-out horror.

I prefer clever stuff like the vastly underrated The Others.
