I just know this will become a ten-page thread once I've written this, but the reason Bush won over Kerry is that you Americans have a shitty political set-up. Plus you're all stupid. (Being fair, "were" stupid, the recent opinion polls made me smile.)

Still, what with our two main parties now becoming ever more centralised, the "Liberals" being run by a fucking OAP, and the fascists getting more and more votes, we're not far behind.

I thought it was the first election against Al Gore where there was accusations of vote rigging in Florida? But still funny.

Dude, keep your political comments directed at your own shitty country. There's nothing quite like an ignorant foreigner ranting about the people and politics of another country (a country, mind you, that is 100 times better than their country).

I think its because Bush is a born again Christian, so 50% of america automaticly voted for him. If thats true then its means that the USA is a theocracy, and judging by some of the rhetoric coming from Mr. Bush it really does seem that way. lol

And Ken, being the most powerful economic and military force in the world, i think the rest of us have a vested intrest in your countries politics, as it affects all of us, not just you in the states. So us 'ignorant foreigners' will continue to debate the politics of the USA.

First off, you just called every American on this board stupid. Second, I lived in England for 3 1/2 years, I think I have far more knowledge to base my comparison on than you do.

Not trying to piss you off, though. The United States is just a better country than the UK. You can call it opinion, but I think it's are fairly factual opinion, so to speak. I, though, did not say all Brits are stupid so you shouldn't take offense.

Didn't. Called everyone who voted for Bush stupid. Mild difference...

Where, and how long ago? I've lived here most of my life.

For once...

Go ahead and debate our politics all you want, but BBC and Sky News does not report American news as it actually happens. There's a political spin on it geared towards their own political agenda, the same goes for other countries. Zad is not a political expert so his opinion is shit when it comes to American politics, just like any opinion I have on British politics is pure crap! Sorry if I find ignorant comments annoying.

Why does everyone take offense to the word ignorant? Is this some globally misunderstood word?

I lived in Mildenhall from 1999 to 2001.

Fox News is pure crap! My point is that you don't know American politics, why comment? I don't know British politics, so you wouldn't like me talking shit.

Was what I said wrong, then?

There's a slight difference between our two countries, dear Ken. And however much you love yours, you have to admit that.

How much do you actually know American politics, though? I'm sure you realise that international opposition to the US government is as a result of foreign, not domestic policy. In that respect actually having lived in America does not really make someone more qualified to comment than someone with an interest in global politics as a whole.

Fox and Sky both being owned by Murdoch they are both bound to have similar political undertones. But i would say that the BBC is the least political of our news channels, in fact there are bodys within the BBC set up to prevent the news from having any policial bias. I would say Channel 4 is the news with the clearest political bias, clearly left wing and anti bush (not anti american), but i like it!

Buts its funny you should say that the BBC does not give a clear picture of american news. If like me some of you Brits are away at like 3 in the moring watching BBC news 24, you may have seen ABC world news. This is on the BBC to give us an american perception of the news. I must say that i find it ironic that the program is called ABC world news when the only storys that i have ever seen from outside the US are about Iraq. So anyway, the BBC does give an american percetion on american news.
