Hmmm...it's hard to explain, really. I've been a member there since 2003, I have over 12,000 posts and that's with basically not posting all of of 2004 while I had no PC at home. Some people have almost 100,000 posts. To explain how things are there is hard. I mean, words used there would make no sense elsewhere. Being racist is acceptable there, and the black people (supposedly) are just as bad. Being sexist is acceptable. Being homophobic is acceptable, but also there's some rampant homosexual innuendos in virtually every thread. It's just a very odd messageboard with a strange hierarchy where everyone knows their place and plays along even though their "label" may be totally off base.

All I know is that the website has made me laugh more than anything I've ever seen on the web.

No way. I have never come across a board like this before.

This is how these forums would appear to a lot of people I know. The reality is much, much milder, of course, but it's a matter of your own worldview and what you're used to. A lot of the shit that gets said here would get your ass kicked* if you tried to say it on, for example, Mount Holyoke's campus.

*ass kicked = subjected to hours and hours of sensitivity lectures to the effect of we all must actively work toward eradicating racism and homophobia, as it is our responsibility as straight white people to do so

Hehehe. Agreed, there is a lot of that at other boards, but for some reason it's not the same at BI. They take it so serious, but it's all in jest. I mean, dropping a turd on a Boxing Insider shirt, taking a photo and then burning it and taking another photo and posting it for the owner to see—along with a bunch of Jew jokes (because the owner is Jewish)—woud make it seem like someone taking something too serious, but in reality it's just comedy, you know?

The boxing dicussions are generally serious, but the Anything But Boxing forum is insane. I've definitely not encountered any forum like it. Plus everyone there seems to be really intelligent which kind of elevates the humor. It's not a bunch of 12-year olds calling each other niggers and fags, you know? It's more sophisticated. Hehe.
