europeans happen to know more about the world than most of the usa's role models (not to mention the POTUS).
at least that's my impression/view/opinion

i'm not saying we are better or more intelligent but a lot of americans have such a judgemental and closeminded point of view on the rest of the world.

Only american teams if you don't count Toronto, and until the last decade Montreal. Those cities are in Canada, in case you didn't know.

My mother is american, I have an american passport, lived in the Bronx for two years and until last year would go to new york every summer.

Yeah, we do. I think a lot of that comes from things beyond our control, however. I'm traveling to Scandinavia in about a month, and just a little research on the Eurorail system explains a lot of our differences. Europeans have tremendous and (from my perspective) exciting access to other peoples and cultures in just an hour or two's train trip. We Americans are stuck with thousands of miles (more thousands KM ) or sameness. Many of you learn English and other languages: we Americans are under no real pressure to learn anything. We also have been nutured with the mentality that America is the greatest country in the world, while I get the notion that many of you Euros are raised much more cyncially towards your country. None of these factors are necessarily anyone's fault, although I wish more Americans were aware of these differences.

So, why are you still so ignorant?

twice actually. now, don't get me wrong. There are enough people who know how to care for others but from what i saw your country is divided in two. for every caring person i saw, there were 3 total freaks. You find it normal when you go to a bar, to be insulted for 'stinky european' by some guy without teeth and with several stab wounds, WHICH he proudly shows every 4 minutes?

I'm not ignorant. Put you probably spend time only with democrats.
btw, I don't think that every european country is a angel. I'm even aware of the negative parts in Switzerland, in my view one of the best countries ever (I'm a patriot- could you have guessed?). The nazi gold, the anonymous banking system (the laws are changed now, btw. no more african dicators stealing charity money and escaping here).

lets just watch out that this doesn't turn into a euro-vs-usa thead... teehee. Although it would probably be a one-sided match...
