Well it's that time of the year again where we Hindu's binge ourselves like pigs in celebration. I'm at my folks place right now, waiting for my former school mates to arrive for lunch. Mum cooked up a storm....beriyani rice, fruit salad, ladiesfingers with japanese tofu, chicken in soy sauce, curry chicken (spicy), and mutton curry (extra-extra spicy). Can't wait to dig in. Later tonight....dinner at my uncles......beeeeerrrr!!!!! |

The government banned firecrackers to be owned by the public as in recent years we had a lot of casualties especially young children. The only time we can watch the fireworks is when it's a government organized event. But of course, they make sure it's a good show. |

I love spicy stuff. I don't have indian restaurants here, so I have to settle for ODing with tabasco on everything. |

I love spicy food too, but i dont like to exaggerate. I hate when the food is only spicy and you cannot taste anything else. Enjoy yourself btw. |

Enjoy yourself btw. Ha ha, don't worry. You'll probably drool once you get the aroma. Wait till you sink your teeth in. I have no idea.....I've tried many types of food, but still Indian food comes out tops. And the people here are making money since Indian food is a favourite among everyone here. Banana leaf!!! |

the problem is sometimes the spicy taste is oil-based and so no matter how much watter you drink it won't come out. i often find myself coating my tongue with a napkin (really). |

Well when you eat a food that's too spicy you should always avoid driking... If you want to eliminate parte of the spicy flavor when it's too strong, eat bread. |

Or you can drink milk, I've found that it neutralises the burning effect when food is too spicy. |

Wel the biggest mistake people make is drink water after eating spicy food. Bread would be better. |

yes, i heard about bread, milk and also beer to counter that. but on the same table that has spicy food you probably won't find milk, beer is unlikely with my family and so there's only bread. it works i guess. |
