Fuck, I just wrote a review for my school newspaper but these stupid hotel printers are fucked. So I'm just going to post it here for safekeeping and copy it as soon as I get back. And anyone who understands it is free to comment on my indubitably atrocious italian grammar. Sonata Arctica: Ecliptica (Spinefarm 1999) Punteggio: 100/100 Uno dei migliori cd in assoluto, il debut del mio gruppo preferito Sonata Arctica, questo Meisterwerk della musica ha segnato l’apice della qualitá del metal finlandese. I Sonata Arctica sono un gruppo di musicisti giovani (quasi tutti sono ancora sotto i trenta) che suonano con una passione trovata raramente dopo il 19esimo secolo (Beethoven, qualcuno?) e che riescono a estrarre sentimenti dagli ascoltatori in maniera incredibile, entrando nei più profondi enigmi di emozione umana e facendoci direttamente effetto. Musicalmente assomigliano un poco agli Stratovarius, essendo quest’ultimi il gruppo finlandese più conosciuto nello stile “power metal”. Ma invece di essere una copia unoriginale, hanno moltiplicato tutto quello di positivo, facendone una brillante opera sonorica. Il cantante/tastierista Tony Kakko canta benissimo, è intonato e ha una passione nella voce che Pavarotti si sogna di notte (Replica, Fullmoon). Sulla tastiera è bravo, ha delle mani veloci e suona in perfetta armonia con la chitarra (Fullmoon, UnOpened). Il chitarrista, Jani Liimatainen, è una bestia incredibile. Improvvisa assoli melodici che sembrano scritti da Bach stesso, tanto sono perfetti. Inoltre è un virtuoso superbo, suona scale e arpeggi a velocitá bestiale, facendo sentire con esatezza ogni nota e dando a ogni nota l’importanza che serve, ma allo stesso tempo possiede una fluiditá impressionante. E tutto questo con solo poche lezioni tanto tempo fa. La batteria ha un ruolo puramente ritmico. Tommy Portimo non fa ne assoli ne improvvisazioni, ma ha un senso ritmico molto forte. Sa come e quando distribuire l’uso del doppio pedale (My Land) ed è molto accordo con l’andamento completo del gruppo. Il basso ha un ruolo un poco secondario. Segue le basi di ogni canzone e non è particolarmente impressionante, ma potrei solo essere io che non me ne intendo molto di basso. Ogni canzone ha una linea melodica bellissima, che non riuscirai a staccarti dalla testa. I testi vagano dalla cancellatura di un harddrive (Blank File- quanto odio quei virus...) alla gioia di un patriota quando ritorna nella sua terra dopo una guerra (My Land) fino alla triste storia di una ragazza che lascia i genitori e il fidanzato e trasloca in una città grande dove deve prostituirsi per soppravivere (Letter To Dana). Insomma, questo cd segna un trionfo musicale per i finlandesi e i Sonata non hanno ancora fatto un album che riesca a sfidare Ecliptica. Un classico assoluto. |

Relativt idiotiskt att skriva ett helt jävla inlägg på italienska. Vem i helvete förstår ett sådant skitspråk? SA är ett band som dessutom suger hästpung, så det är kanske lika bra att jag inte kan läsa det hela. Snälla, håll käften om du inte kan skriva på engelska. .:crast:. |

No pude entender una puta madre de lo que escribiste, pero si vi que le diste 100 de calificación, lo cual se me hace una mamada ya que no le dejas espacio a la banda para mejorar, un ejemplo sería Silence que en mi opinión es un album muy superior al primero, este es un ejemplo clasico de un fanboy. |

Oba, um tópico em que posso postar em português !! Esse disco do Sonata Arctica com certeza é o melhor deles, pra mim 97/100. Como disse em outro tópico, melhor disco de estréia de uma banda desde Van Halen I. |
