So, I just met my biological father for the first time in, oh say 15 years. At first I was veeeery nervous, but it turned out very well. He was a genuine person and he actually seemed interested in what Meish and I had to talk about. We had dinner at a local brewery (kind of upscale and he treated) and shared a lot about each other. Anyway, I found out that I am Norwegian. I'm Scandinavian! Awesome!! This thread is pretty pointless, but I thought I'd share that. I guess I could turn this into a “what is your backround” thread... so lets do that.

Well I was born here in this backwater colony, but my father is a pom so I consider myself loyal to the crown.

Well I was born here in Malaysia, and so was my parents and theirs. I'm the 3rd generation of Ceylonese Tamils in Malaysia.

Ceylonese tamils? Ring a bell? Well my so called people back in Sri Lanka are the Tamil Tiger rebels. But I sorta despise being a ceylonese. Totally fucked up people. We are the nation's Jews. Even the Chinese are no match to our selfishness.

my grandparents are from india, but went to mozambique (it's on africa's east coast), my parents were born there but returned to india because of the colonial war between Portugal and its former colonies. then they went back to Mozambique and from there to Lisbon, Portugal

One great grandparent from Italy, one grandparent from Ireland, mum is Irish on a technicality. So I'm a dagomick.

I've never met my father, I've heard many stories on how he was a strict ass military dick who drank excessively and did some drugs, which made him do unpleasant things to my mother.

They split up before I was born, but thank Jebus my mom got stupid one day and had a fling with him (He made all sorts of "I promise to never hurts you evar!" statements apparently) and thus I was conceived! Haha.

So anyways, I have scottish backround that I know absolutely nothing about, nor care to know about.

born in oxford, after two years moved to NY, in dah bronx, 2 years later moved to lucerne. Moved south in 2000. MY mom's from new england, maternal grandfather is of lithuanian descent, maternal grandmother is of irish heritage. In fact, my ancestors where those 7 foot tall dudes who guarded some palace.
on my fathers side, all pure swiss...

I'm a mongrel. My mom's side of the family is English, German and Native American, though there's some fairly impressive pedigrees. I'm a direct descendant of John Hancock, and the white bits of the family were some of the first settlers in Iowa. The Native bits are Blackfoot and Sac and Fox. My dad's side of the family is all eastern European Jew; Polish, Austro-Hungarian and Besserabian (Besserabia is now called Moldova; that part of the family immigrated before the turn of the century). Sometimes I wish I were more purely one thing or another; no national identity to fall back on.
