I don't know why nobody's ever done a poll like this anywhere. What's your favorite season overall? For me, it's a toss-up between Season 4 and Season 6. But ultimately, I have to go with Season 6 for its classic episodes like Professor Chaos, The Lord Of The Rings episode, My Future Self 'N Me, etc. Season 5 was also interesting since it showed the series temporarily taking a darker turn (perhaps reflecting the fact that 2001 was a rather dark year in many ways - 9/11 for example). Plus, it was probably the season that solidified its conversion from silly toilet humor ridden show (not a complaint, btw) to biting social commentary. I think it was also the season that did away with a lot of the in-show music of the first four seasons in favor of the slightly less happy in-show music used today. I guess you could call 2000-2002 the series' golden years. |

Season 6 was fucking classic in everyway. I've seen each and every episode several times. The Death Camp of Tolerance, Jared Has Aides, Asspen, and The New Terrence and Philip Movie Trailer were my favorites of the season. |

I'd have to look back to decide. I can't remember what episodes are in each season. Right now I'm totally digging the 10th season though. Edit - However I will say that the first season is so lame now. When it came out it was funny, but now it is just boring and actually kind of annoying when I watch it. |

Season 6&8. Season 10 is turning out to be a killer one as well. |

I think Season 5 would be my favourite. It has Scott Tenorman Must Die, It Hits the Fan, Towelie, Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants, and Kenny Dies, all of which are some of my favourite episodes, along with a bunch of other funny ones. Seasons four and six were also great (but I seem to be the only one to not find the Lord of the Rings one that funny), and season 10 is shaping up to be another one of my favourites as well. |

Yeah I also thought a lot of it was pretty, well, obvious. Too many easy gags. |

Well, I do have to disagree with you, mate. I was watching some first season episodes just a few weeks ago. I still find several of them funny even today (Damien, Cartman's Mom Is A Dirty Slut, etc). I will say, though, that it's interesting to watch a Season 10 episode and then go back and watch a Season 1 episode. South Park has probably changed and evolved more than any other show I can think of. For example, if you watch the 10th and then first seasons of Friends side-by-side, you'll notice that the cast has aged and the plots have matured significantly, but the show still follows a basic formula and premise. South Park, on the other hand, never really had any such formula to speak of. So there was decidedly more room for it to evolve without alienating too many people. As for the worst season, I'd say it's easily Season 9. I just didn't find it as funny as the other seasons. And some episodes, such as The Losing Edge, were among the most boring episodes ever IMO. |

It wasnt the best, but I wouldnt call it the worst. I thought The Losing Edge was fucking hilarious. I played on the local baseball team for 8 years and you really do get parents like that sometimes, its unreal. Not to mention it has Ginger Kids, Two Days Before The Day After Tommorow, Trapped In The Closet, and Die, Hippi, Die <--- Some very good eps. Pretty much Im of the opinion that the show has been on fire since season 6, some misses here and there, but overall amazing. The first 5 seasons are really good in places, just not as good. |

I agree. Simply for Die, Hippie, Die (which may be one of the funniest things I've ever watched) Season 9 can't be the worst. But it also has other really excellent episodes; Trapped in the Closet, Best Friends Forever, Free Willzyx, and yes, The Losing Edge, which was a great episode. I'd say the worst season would be either season 1 or 3; but both also have their great episodes. |

Season 9 is indeed not as good as other seasons. Bloody Mary is freaking terrible and Wing is totally gay. |

Bloody Mary basically crossed the line for me. That was just tasteless and not at all funny. Wing was also pretty lame. That said, Die, Hippie, Die was a great ep. As were Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina, Marjorine (probably my favorite from Season 9), and Ginger Kids. I don't think it was a bad season at all. I personally just didn't really enjoy it as much as the first eight. Though, in all fairness, most of Season 7's good episodes didn't come until the second half IMO (Christian Rock Hard had to be one of the funniest SP episodes ever). |

I voted season 6(mainly because Butters becoming a main character was the best thing that ever happened to the show), although 7 and 8 had plenty of classics. 9 and 10 have been both been pretty uneven, with Marjorine and Tsst being my favorites from those seasons. Christian Rock Hard is probably my all-time favorite. I can't watch any of the episodes from the first 2 seasons anymore, although at the time I thought they were hilarious. |

Okay, I decided to watch The Losing Edge again a couple hours ago. I guess I take back what I said. That is a pretty funny episode. I've also seen trash-talking parents getting into fights with other parents even when I was on the swimming team a while back. And it was funny seeing Parker and Stone contradict the age-old notion that "all kids love baseball." Actually, being that a lot of people have called the South Park cast a fowl-mouthed version of the Peanuts gang, and the peanuts loved baseball, I think it was only appropriate for Parker and Stone to do a South Park episode centering on the boys' opinions of the sport. |

It was funny in the beginning but fucking hell it suck when it reached halfway all the way to the end. ![]() I liked that episode for the most part, since I've actually been waiting for somebody to finally parody the whole "Sports Comedy" genre. It basically twisted almost every sports comedy cliche (struggling team gets seeming "star player," in this case Ike, yada yada yada). Though I did find those Steve Irwin references rather immature (I guess they were Parker and Stone's responses to the way people were complaining about their portrayal of him in the Halloween Party episode), and that preschool kid's fate at the end was sad. |
