So this January I'm going to be in England and Finland. I'll only be in England for a few days at the end of December (I had a layover in London and figured, what the hell, might as well make it long enough to see stuff as long as I'm there), but I'll be in Finland for most of a month. I'll be spending most of my time in Helsinki, but I'll probably hit Tampere and Espoo as well. Anyone have any suggestions of things to do/see? |

Check out Jyväskylä my home city at the same time. There's a metal gig almost every weekend and sometimes during the week. On my birthday the 26th of January for example there's Ensiferum, lucky for me my student exchange in Scotland ends a week before that. |

Come to Leeds, the happiest place on Earth and we can party like it's 1983 ![]() Climb St Paul's if you're feeling fit. It's the best view of London you can get without flight and climbing all those stairs makes you feel like you've accomplished something. Then you can burn it on the way out..../varg Alternatively, you could just do the normal touristy stuff, buckingham palace, big ben etc, which is unsurprisingly dull. Or you could do what I do whenever I go to london...and just get drunk. |

Do what I did when I was in London - walk around wondering why everyone is bumping into you, refusing to crack a smile and failing to hold doors open for you. Cunts. Of course, that was just Camden, I'm sure everywhere else is nicer. ![]() |

That would be awesome, but I'm flying in on the 28th. I'm also leaving Finland before Ensiferum plays in Tampere, which makes me very, very sad. Ah, well. I will not be murdering Zad. Alternatively, if anyone wants to meet in person, that would be awesome. Send me a pm! |

Ha, I just freaked out at my mom over the phone about this trip. This is really frightening; this is the first time I'll be in a foreign country on my own. ![]() |

Wouldn't it be weird meeting people in person? I don't know, I've always felt that would be awkward. I mean, none of us in person are as we are online. Wouldn't you be disappointed if someone was a total dolt in person, but excels at writing more? I don't know, it's something I've always thought could potentially be totally weird and disappointing—like sleeping with a 400lb. chick with one leg. |

I'm far too ruggedly good looking and excellent for any meetings to be awkward. |

I'm exactly the same in real life as I am in written form. Maybe a little less eloquent, but I'm quiet and inoffensive, and I'm far too unthreatening physically for people to feel awkward around. |
