Link I pretty much agree with this guy. I don't think the NBA is really any worse than the other professional sports, the image just sticks with basketball more than with other sports, for whatever reason. ...Carmelo Anthony is a pussy. |

+1 Back in the glory days (Jordan, Bird, Magic, etc.) Now, the NBA has descended into the realms of complete and utter shit. To be honest, I actually like Carmelo, but that was a cheap shot and he should be suspended for at least 10 games. The NBA is so ridiculous with their trading rules and college washouts, I can't even bear to watch anymore. The NBA needs to take a cue from the NFL on a few things. |

Boxing is just as bad, I'd say. Boxers come in with huge entourages; people that aren't professionals, but friends from the old days in the hood. It's bullshit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uc-MlRCeRg For example, that's the recent Judah vs. Mayweather fight. Judah hits Mayweather with a lowblow, Mayweather's trainer gets in the ring to protest—which should have DQ'd Mayweather, but boxing corruption dictated otherwise, I guess. Judah, the "professional" boxer, then goes around punching people! WTF? Another quality Judah highlight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_B7iBFw0y2Y This is Judah getting knocked the fuck out! Of course, after he did the Kakarena, and flopped around on the canvas a bit, he was "fine"; but he was counted out. So he starts a riot; him and his "boys." This time he goes after the ref. More happened than what is shown here, but you get the idea. This is one of the worst I've seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-K6dvTmqZs Green vs. Codrington. Green KOs Codrington quick, a brutal KO that actually broke Codrington's neck. What happens after—which you can't totally see from that camera angle shown above—is fucking pathetic. About 900 piece of shit thug faggots jump into the ring and start fighting with everyone! All this while the other boxer is laying on the canvas with a broken neck. Fucking pathetic. There should be no entourages in boxing. You come to the ring with your trainers and your cutman. That's fucking it! Now that I think on it; I think boxing may be the worst. |

Ah yes, the NFL: masters of ignoring problems and letting them go away. Yes, Merriman got hit this year, but how many NFL players do you think use steroids? Most estimates range at at least 75%. If they nail one star and a couple scrubs every year they can claim they are "policing", meanwhile baseball gets stigmatized and tainted forever. Also, the NBA is branded as a bunch of thugs, while the NFL can have half the Cincinatti Bengals team arrested in one year and still remain pristine. |

Uh, yeah, I meant in terms of making a watchable product fellas. I wasn't trying to imply that the NFL isn't without its own problems. In the very least, though, it's entertaining to watch, whereas watching the NBA is about as appealing as watching dog shit dry in the hot sun. |

If you don't like basketball, whatever, but I don't understand how any of you could go from "Basketball is my favorite sport" to "The NBA is shit". If you want to argue that the NBA was more fun to watch twenty years ago then okay, but in reality the games themselves aren't that much different from what they were back then--certainly not enough for it to make any sense for you to think that the NBA is shit now. |

See, I disagree with that. The game is all about isolation now. Feed the ball to your star and let him make something happen, regardless of how horrendous a shot he may take. It might have always been like that, but guys like Jordan and Bird made it fun to watch. Now everybody's severly overpaid, and they play with no heart. It's almost like a glorified pick up game where nobody really gives a shit who wins and loses. I'm hoping that Wade, LeBron, and Carmelo can bring about some excitement, but if Carmelo acts like a mindless thug, that's gonna be tough. |

That might've been the case five or six years ago, but right now I can't think of any teams that really do that, except maybe the Hawks with Joe Johnson, but they suck. All good teams have a solid cast of players and multiple stars. Being an Arizona native, I've loved the Suns my entire life and they're a perfect example. If that's really what you think of the league, watch the Suns play a couple of games...Steve Nash is really amazing. |

I have watched the Suns a few times, and they're pretty exciting. Nash is everything that's right about basketball, and the best point guard by FAR in the league. That said, I went to a Pacers-Knicks game awhile back, and I was bored to tears. I remember when it used to be a real rivalry, with all the Reggie Miller v. Spike Lee hilarity. This game was crap. For the Knicks, their offense consisted of jumpers by one of the 18 point guards they have on their roster (Isaiah Thomas is a retard). For the Pacers, it was throw it in to Jermaine, and let him back down his man so he can take a 10 foot fallaway. A pathetic showing, at best. If it wasn't for all the beer I drank and the Pacers cheerleaders keeping me sane, I might have hung myself from the arena rafters. Maybe I should move to Phoenix? ![]() |

The west in general has more uptempo, offense first teams, I'd say. And yeah, Knicks games are about as boring as it gets. BTW-I wasn't criticizing your point about the NFL, I was just trying to illustrate that the NFL is much, much more adept at getting people to sweep it's shortcomings under the rug. |

Am I the only Kobe fan around here? And btw, I may have been overreacting. I still love basketball and enjoy watching certain teams (the Suns being one of them). Shit like this just pisses me off. |

If it wasn't for LeBron, I'd say he's the best in the league. I hated him when he went through his "drama queen" phase with Shaq and Malone, but I don't mind him now. |

You want shit? Look no further than cricket. WTF is this shit? And why do people gets so excited about it? "YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! 16 hours of people doing FUCK ALL!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" And it always comes on around christmas time, which means every cunt wants to watch it. You try to change the channel and people react like you walked in the room and shat on their baby. And no-one has ever, ever given me a logical explanation on why they like it. Ever. They always give some vague and insecure reason like, "Oh, we get to beat the Poms." So fucking what! Hooray, we hit a ball and ran up and down a strip of dirt more times than the British did! How the fuck is that an achievement? Beating the British to Mars is an achievement. Retards! ![]() |
