That's absolutely fascinating. It's amazing to see how standards of beauty and what's considered risque change. You can mark the advent of Twiggy (damn you, you skeletal freak) and other "mainstream" events in women's fashion and beauty. I find it interesting that you can suddenly see jumps in things like visible nipples and pubic hair, and the loss of the latter. I imagine great excitement over the first time they were allowed to show full-on crotches ("We finally got the green light for bush!" "Yeah!" "You know, ten years ago when I first came on, it was nice to leave a little to the imagination. It's more exciting that way." "Whatever, there's bush now!") and the subsequent changes to what that means ("Gross, she's got hair." "Well, we need to have some hair to avoid a kiddie porn rap." "I know! We'll shave them into a little racing stripe." "Brilliant!") as social standards also change ("Guys, we don't even need the stripe anymore!" "YES! Finally, with the help of Photoshop, anorexia, plastic surgery and advanced hair removal techniques, we have made the centerfold look completely unlike an actual adult human female!").
