I know quite a few people who go there, as I went to high school in Virginia.

It's weird, though...I don't feel as shocked or horrified as I think I probably should. It's just another in the tragedies of the world, you know?

that's crazy.. not the first time... why does this keep happening? always happening on highschools or universities

i've read some other places on the web that at least 31 were killed, and another stated that 22 were killed

The last I heard, it was 34, but who knows at this point?

I sincerely hope that the scumbag responsible did shoot himself and end his worthless life. A tragedy he couldn't have just done that first.

Just 32 kills? What's the big worry? In Iraq 10 more people are killed on a daily basis because of suicide bombings.

+1

oh and misha, i don't see your point. almost every life that is ended like that or like in iraq is a waste of human life.

I'm always so afraid of something like this happening at my school.
Although they've taken steps like locking all the doors from the outside after the bell rings and whatnot, except the front door. So the principal is the first (wo)man down. But still.

Allow me to be the first to ask you two not to use this awful event as a means for making a political point.

Have a little tact please.

Wow, someone actually agreed :omfg: I was just making a ridiculous statement to see how people responded...

Agreed. I was at a school shooting this september, though luckily one that was nowhere near as horrible as this, and its completely terrible in about every way. I am so fucking sick of these insane assholes taking everything out on innocent people. My condolences to everyone there and I hope they are able to eventually deal with this tragic event... These shootings need to stop.

I heard about it this morning, but I've been in and out all day and even with the news on right now, I still don't really know what all has went on... I mean, I know the basic facts, but beyond that...

I think there are a variety of reasons things like this are happening, and some of them aren't really reasons at all. We could discuss it for days... But ultimately, it sucks that students go to school now, not wondering if someone is going to break the dress code or smoke cigarettes in the bathroom, but that someone might shoot them and their classmates.

I'll have to catch up more on the story a little later...

I really hope you were. Soldiers are armed, trained, and expecting life-threatning danger to some degree, but your average college student getting breakfast in the morning isn't. Really, really sad.

Can you imagine the headlines if this guy had 2 or more CDs from Manson, Eminem, or any variant of aggressive music?

"Metalhead responsible for largest mass shooting in U.S. History."

I wasn't talking about the American soldiers, I was talking about innocent people in Iraq, funny you didn't even assume that I could be talking about non-Americans just kidding

I wasn't really speaking of the Iraq war specifically, but as a big umbrella for wars in general, compared to unexpected massacres like this. I guess "soldiers" is the first type of casuality that comes to mind when the word "war" comes up.

However, I never specified what nationality the collective "Soldiers" represented. no offense taken

No shit, have half a brain man. It makes you look like a moron. Death is horrible everywhere, especially sensless shit like this AND suicide bombers killing their own people.

I guess those suicide bombers lived without purpose before us horrible Americans "invaded" their countries, huh? Nah, they didn't do that shit before the US got there.

true, since WWII civilians casualties have sadly become infinitely more common than when wars consisted of two armies killing each other until one was gone

btw this didn't take long
