Congratulations! That's a great school, but I heard it's brutal. Good luck!

So, can we start calling you Good Will Hunting? :)

To grossly oversimplify, it's an ivy-league school in Massachussetts. One of the top universities in America.

Congrats on getting in! I've heard it's pretty rough, and a lot of the students there are really snobbish, but I'm sure you'll still have a great time.

it's not in the ivy-league, seinfeld (though i'm not saying it's not a top uni).

they're working with some portuguese unis as well, namely IST and ISEG (part of UTL) and with the fuckfaces at FE-UNL (our rivals, grrr) :dio:

I have yet to pick a major. I don't know whether I want to do meteorology or genetics or chemistry or chemical engineering or astrophysics or what yet. All sciences interest me, so finding what I will truly enjoy is going to be a difficult task. I won't become snobbish either. It's not like me to put others down because they're not where I am. I know some really bright kids (some actually ranked higher in my class) who weren't accepted, so I consider myself fortunate to have been given the opportunity to attend. I'm going to be visiting this weekend so I'll tell you all about the experience and post some pictures.

I'm not sure how true this is, but it seems like a very MIT kinda thing...

In America there is a group called the "Campus Crusades for Christ" who, as the name implies, promote Christ and Christianity on college campuses. They are pretty sketchy and cult-ish ("skip class and come to bible study with me! donate all your money to the church!"), but for a while they had a presence in most major US Universities. Their campus acronym is always CCC, and they use it for all their advertising, fund raising, etc. The story goes that when they got to MIT, they set up all their advertising and posters and propaganda with the CCC logo, only to find that another group had already beaten them to that acronym: The Campus Crusades for Cthulhu. The CCCthulhu demanded exclusive usage of the CCC acronym, and when they took the case to the governing student body, they ended up winning and forcing the CCChrist to change their name to CCX.

Campus Crusade For Christ is also where I go to school. They're a little cult-like, but not too bad. They (or at least the organization where I go to college) don't prosletyze too much the way some Christian organizations do. I actually know some fairly cool people there.

They're at UBC as well. I've defaced a couple of their propaganda posters with "666" in red pen.
