A new picture. Well... not so new, I did this last summer, I've been superlazy with my drawing. Creative critisism is morethen welcome!

it's a nice drawing, and the guy has good proportions.

the only critic i can find is the perspective. The buildings in the background are not in perspective, the lines should be more parallel, and his helmet looks as if the top points in one direction and the jaw in another, but only slightly - it's the back of the helmet that makes this effect, i think.

and you need stars.. stars are great! :dio:

Expecting this thread to be filled with pictures of penises, I am understandably dissapointed.

Nevertheless, a very cool drawing.

i'd add a few stars, like Kim said. also i think the guy could use a more badass/angry look on his face.

other than that, nice pic!

Why is there a foot-long dildo by his left knee?

Nice drawing, Skartasis. It has a professional and rich style. I wonder what it would look like with more dynamic shading? It could look worse, given the style, but it's something to consider if you haven't already. Either way, good work.

I think it's pretty darn cool. How about you experiment with giving the backgrounds deeper and darker shading, and make the figure slightly lighter. That way you can get away with not having to put so much detail into the background, and giving more focus to the soldier.

Before anyone asks, it was me who edited Jaden's posts and deleted Ken's. Knock it the fuck off, and either talk about Skartasis' awesome drawing, vent your PMS symptoms on some other website, or get banned from this one.

Or, more appropriately, stop taking unprovoked swipes at Ken.

Now, about the drawing; in all seriousness, I don't like the quasi-crosshatch shading. I think it makes it look messy. More solid shading would look a lot better.

I didn't even really see it until Ken pointed it out. I guess if you are looking for a dildo, you will find one, but if not, you won't.

It could very well mean something that I didn't see it either, until Ken pointed it out.

I agree with Jaden and Tlaloc's comments about more shading, especially in the background. As it is, the soldier tends to blend in too much. Otherwise, awesome drawing! You're very good with mechanical things, something I suck at.

Yeah, listen to Kayla. I have absolutely no art experience, nor have I gotten any joy from drawing at all. I have no talent with drawing whatsoever and get frustrated really easy on the extremely rare occasion I tried to draw seomthing. All I can do is say if something looks cool or not.

Concentrate less on lines, more on areas. And take into account the source of the lighting; you've got a fire going there behind the soldier, so you should only see his silhouette, perhaps with some details picked out in dark grey, but otherwise completely black. That's what makes a powerful image.

Nice pic? It looks damn professional. Ever thought of a career in animation?
