Zad and I were talking, and he decided that I ought to take over short story submissions while he does poetry. So, here are the rules.

Length: Approx. 1000 words
(huge deviation will be looked upon negatively). It's much easier to judge stories of similar length, and I don't think anyone wants to wade through 10,000 word pseudo-novellas. Try to keep within 200-300 words of desired word count.

Themes
Here is how themes will work. Everyone must use two of the following themes in their short story. They also must take one from each category (that is, one cannot use two themes from category A; one must be from A, and the other from B).

Category A:
Zombies
Artificial Intelligence
Space Travel
Time Travel

Category B:
Genocide
Infantacide
Underage Sex
Drugs

Submission Deadline:
May 25th

Still being worked out, but likely a new thread will be created. Please notify me in this thread when you are done your short story, so I can create the new topic.

Judgment
Judgment will be done via a voting system. Details to be worked out.

I'm going to postpone this. I think everyone is too busy right now (myself as well; I have an essay due Wednesday).

If a few people would respond and suggest some deadlines I might be able to work out another date.

Having made a good start to my entry, it's gone over the limit already, and it seems like it'll be more along the 2000 words line. Can we double the length, or must I start again?

Just cut out excess fat as much as you can. Ultimately, it will be the voters deciding, so... it probably won't effect it too much, but at least try to stay under 2000.

I might not make it either. I find the amount of time we have (had) incredibly short. Ten days, what the heck.

Too bad all I know of short stories is porn.

Mine's been ready for posting for a while, but I haven't heard from Trevor, so have no idea what's going on. Don't want to seize control or anything, are we the only two ready?

I'm not going to run the competition with only a couple completed stories - due date will be moved to mid-end of June. If you plan on writing this story (even if you already said so, but then changed your mind), feel free to respond to inform me. I would like to get at least five entries before I run the competition.

Jaden, Slayer of Kings and Zad, that's three already. I'm thinking the others sort of underestimated it. Another factor is the current poetry contest, and a third cause would be the relatively short time we got (as said before).
