Adding fluoride in water is not so bad as it sounds. It is actually helpful in some circumstances. Read the following for more info:

It is already added to tap water in the US. I've heard that since people drink bottled water nowadays more than tap water that a lot of people are missing out on fluoride they need.

On one side it's good, on the other it's not so good. When I open the tap, I expect water. There is fluoride in my toothpaste already. On the other hand children of parents who wouldn't care enough to get fluoride supplements could get the protection for their teeth that they need.

There is a bad side to fluoride and it is known to have adverse effects. I like to have a choice, but then again I get most of my fluids in the form of milk, juice or in my food.

They do that over here in Malaysia. I guess many of our kids hate brushing their teeth.
