So, noticing that I was getting a bit fleshy around the midriff, and noting my pathological hatred of the overweight, I'm giving up wheat for a week.

Any other dieters? Tips? Stories?

Yeah, don't drink beer in excessive quantities. I don't care about the brain damage or the perpetual laziness it brings forth, but the sight of my belly really puts me off.

Quit eating. It's overrated.

I have a 10 kilos too much on me too and I was supposed to exercise this year, but I decided to try eating a lot of pizza. It didn't work. I still have the fats.

What's annoying is all of it goes to the fucking belly. If it was spread around the body I would be a fucking giant, which would have been acceptable. I have the ankles of a 5 year old, but a belly like an opera performer.

Exercise works better, and it's less painful.

Giving up wheat for a week won't do anything. If you work out daily for 1-2 hours, you can lose about 1lb of fat a day, and gain muscle.

Well, he's almost right. You're not going to see any real results in a week, no matter what you do, but especially if you don't exercize. A diet like you're talking about might make you lose some water weight, but that's about it. If you really want to lose weight, you have to stick to a healthy diet and exercize plan for a good amount of time. On the downside, it takes longer. On the upside, you'll be healthier and feel much better to boot.

Well, my thinking here was based around the pa's experience, who got a gluten allergy and thus shed a lot of weight very quickly. Of course, exercise and healthy eating are the best way to go, but I want some short-term weight loss, and wheat seemed a good way to go (carbohydrates?). My plan B was to cut out on solids altogether, and live on soup for a while...

Looking like a muscleyman isn't really that much of a big deal for me. I'm built fairly solidly without looking too much of a thug, and it got me out of a few sticky situations back in the day. And yes, beer's out ftm, on wine again (healthier heart! goes better with fish!).

Please don't go on a liquid fast. You'll completely fuck up your body trying too many fad diet type of things, and the weight will only come right back anyway, as has been proven again and again.

It's probably hormonal or something. What? He ate 50 burgers a day? Still not enough to make 222 kilos in 7 years.
