For various long and boring reasons I have problems with formatting when sending text files from my computer to others via email.

Anyway, I've just emailed my CV out to a couple of people, and I just realised that some of the tabbing is out on them, so on the section where I do "Name: Address:" etc the answers sometimes aren't lined up properly in columns. The rest of the actual text is fine.

If anyone here has experience with this kind of thing, let me ask you this. Is it worth sending a follow up email with the correct version attached? Or will people really not be that bothered, and following it up will just make me look like a desperate buffoon?

It's worth noting that I've already made the same mistake with a couple of other people, but that I've still got really positive feedback on the CV regardless. Maybe nobody really cares and correcting it is more trouble than its worth. Does anyone have an opinion on this extremely mundane but bothersome issue?

Well, some HR people are very anal about that kind off stuff, so I'd send a second version.

Send a word document or a PDF version of your C.V, This way
the formatting stays intact from one computer to another

I'd say dig out the white suit, style the hair as close to a feather bouffant look as possible (Dye your locks with peroxide for bonus points!) and storm into the building of any potential employers singing 'My name is Rio and I dance upon the sand!'

I'd say winner every time. If that fails, well, best to try a different approach like print out your CV and post it to them with a covering letter. I worked as a manager once (I actually hired people to work under me in a non-innuendo way) and presentation is key. Emails will have varying formats, therefore varying results out of the office standard black and white printer. Say, however, you print your CV onto lush paper, with a dash of coloured ink and post it to the employer. They'll, therefore, have a hard copy that will save them the hassle of printing and stapling your stuff.

In the covering letter, mention that you will email the CV as well and for them to look out for it, if they require an electronic version. It will appear that you've made an effort and cover all bases. You can't be guaranteed the job, but brownie points in preparation are always useful.

I heard back from one of them, who didn't seem to mind at all, they said the CV was really good, so I'm thinking it's probably allright with the ones I've sent so far. I'll just be more careful in future.

But that's a good point mentalmark (about posting it). I shall do that, although some of these were abroad which makes it harder.
