Hey there folks, I posted a link to my band a while back and since then we've recorded a bunch of new songs. I figured I'd post a link so you can trash them

Not bad musically, but you need some better recording a metal singer!!

Sooooo my band finally finished our demo/EP/whatever you want to call it. It has 5 songs on it, and we've stuck a couple of them on http://www.myspace.com/superextremeband[/url]

You guys definitely have some talent, but I'd suggest two things:

1. A better name. Super Extreme has got to be one of the worst names I've ever heard...that is, behind my friend's old band which was name Green Leaf Lettuce. Terrible, huh?

2. Better singer. You need a guy who can scream, sing, grunt, or do something besides those raspy rap-ish vocals.

i just love fast palm-muted playing... but you really need a better singer. Maybe someone like the dude in Attacker.

The only thing harder to find than a good metal singer is a good power metal singer They just don't exist, especially at the age the band is.

even harder to find someone who sounds like the dude in Attacker... Go listen to The Hermit. NOW!!!

Hey folks, we've taken your comments about our shitty name to heart and we're deep in the re-naming arguments now. I figured I'd get some people's thoughts. Here are some prospects:

-Ithaka
(Me and the guitarist like this once. It's the island where Odysseus started his journey, and while he was away all he wanted to do was return. I'd like to think people thought of us that way.)

-Sonneillon
(DEMON OF HATE. Unfortunately thats a little too dark for us. Quite a little)

-Fenris
(I always wanted to name a band after Loki's son, the wolf Fenrir, and since that was taken I thought maybe the alternate pronunciation.)

-GoatSlaughterGoreHammer
(The most metal name I could come up with)

Anyway, we're not making much progress. If anyone has any amazing band name ideas I'd love to hear them. We have new recordings too by the way, I'll be putting them up soon.

I've always thought "Uprising" would be a sweet band name...maybe I'm retarded, though.

Out of those, Ithaka is definitely the best...

You guys are definitely pretty good, and I can understand not being able to find a good vocalist.

Fenris is indeed a cool name, but just remember lots of bands have used fenrir/fenris as names. Maybe fenris plus something else?

how about... Fenriz Da Wolf ov Raknarök?

Ohhh I like that one already.

.. or how about Midgardsormr or Jörmungandr - both names for the Midgard Serpent... also a child of Loki

The Fenris wolf is also called Fenrisúlfr... perhaps a better alternative to Fenris?

Fenris also had two sons, Hati ('hate') and Skoll. When ragnarok accurs Skoll chases the horses Árvakr and Alsviðr, that drag the chariot which contains the sun. Hati chases Máni, the moon (the m00n... cool) .. however, i don't find their names to be nearly as powerful, because the names are too short.. just like Loki's last child, Hel - the ruler of the underworld.. and there's already a few bands called Hati

Yeah I pitched Jormungandr and Nidhogg and Mjollnir and all those other norse names to the band a while back but they figured we don't sound viking enough. And thats true unfortunately.

I've yousendit-ed a new recording by us. It doesn't have vocals so I didn't want to put it up on the myspace, but you can download it if you like.

And our lyrics are... different. Both our vocalist dude and our guitarist argue over lyrics and they're each written ones for various songs so it's hard to get a unified theme or anything. Here's some that i wrangled up.

I liked the songs with exception to what others have said the vocals. There are points with the clean vocals in fireless light that i did like.

There are even good times with the growled/yelled/slash shouted/said loudly vocals I did like , i think if he tried to do it more high and the level was brought up on the guitar it would have sounded alot better.

The times where the instruments drop out (fireless light) also strikes me as a little odd and kinda detract from the slow, it sounds like a mistake


I normaly don't like this style all that much but this has potential.


For the name, i would stick with Super extreme just for how it parodys the esoteric/meaningless extreme names people have.
