The first song that comes to mind that profoundly effects me emotionally would be:

"Who Wants To Live Forever"--Queen

I don't think I have ever been brought to tears by music, but after a long day of wallowing through corpses, fighting dragons, going insane, and various other uber-metal themes, listening to Gregorian chant music always just hits me........right.....there ::sniff:: It's so haunting!

Off the top of my head, i cant think of a song that has made me shed a tear of sadness....i'm sure there could be one that i'm just forgetting.

I saw someone wrote they cried when Apollo Creed died in Rocky IV...that was sad. Im pretty sure i cried when Mickey died in Rocky III.

More recently, i cried 3 times while watching Rocky Balboa....only cos the first 20-25 minutes of the movie was about Rocky visiting Adrian's grave and reminiscing the past, reminded me of my mum, who died last year

Yeah, the part when the keyboards and guitar play together made me stop and really listen...

Opeth - White Cluster

I felt like crying for a different reason because of that White Cluster---that it was the only great track on Still Life.

I bought Still Life right after it came out and I had just gotten into Opeth. Compared to My Arms, Your Hearse, I thought it was a huge letdown, and I'd probably still rate Still Life as their worst album. White Cluster is a very emotional track, though

Get out of here!
Hey btw, did you find Arsis boring as well?

I've always thought of Still Life as Opeth's peak, or maybe tied with My Arms Your Hearse. I don't see how someone can think of Deliverance as better than anything

I simply found Still Life too mellow.

Yes that was me on the anti-Arsis bandwagon as well. However I think we've agreed about several other things as well in the past, and I'm a fan of the band you link to in your signature.
