Judas Priest- Get a better idea for a concept album. Or preferably, start writing good lyrics again in general.

Dream Theater should say they were disappointed with Octavarium and release an album on par with Images & Words again. :]

Im not a real big fan of Dream Theater, but i thought Oct. had much better songs than most of their releases. real songs, rather than songs wrapped around jams.
My favorite DT album is scenes from a memory, but if they had cut the album down to like, 20 minutes, it would be a gem, as it is, its only ok to me.

Octavarium had some gems on it, but damn some of the songs just sound whiny and stupid. I wanna know what the hell went through their minds when they recorded "These Walls" and made them say "Yeah, this is a good song" ...'Cuz the lyrics are horrible. And the music is really really sub-par for too. Not just for Dream Theater, I would expect better of any Prog band, really.

And Scenes From A Memory is my favorite besides Images & Words. I didn't like it that much at first, but the more I listen to it, the more wonderful it becomes. :dio:

I liked that album because i felt like they did strip away some of that overindulgent music that one does expect from a prog band and made just a good rock album. The only song i didn't like on it was "i walk beside you"

Scenes from a memory was growing on me with each listen for a while, then it took a steep decline when i got really familiar with the songs and just wanted the solo's to be over so they would get back to the song.

Vintersorg is a great vocalist, though i havent heard any Borknagar with him singing.

Seriously, wtf? Why the hell is vortex even in Demon Burger?

Check out Quintessence, it has a strong Prog vibe to it, and the song Colossus is simply breath-taking.

I will. Only got "The Olden Domain"

AND it was from a distro that sends cd's with the disc and booklet wrapped in gladwrap, and you have to get your own jewel case. And the back cover was for "The Pagan Prosperity" by old mans child! I emailed them but they didnt send me the right one.

I really wish Iron Maiden would do an album with Eb tuning. That would make their already epic music seem even more epic.

Mustaine should write Thrash again.

Deicide should get a proper bass player and let old GB concentrate on blurglurging.

Luca Turilli should learn what a riff is.

Darkthrone should wait a while between albums. Varg should serve his time without fucking around and get the hell out and start working on the new album we were promised!

Mars Volta should bring the energy that they had on De-Loused in the Comatorium back. As cool as their jazz-rock freakouts are they just aren't as cool as the adrenaline rush that albums gives me :P

Idk the wait between albums serves them well. As it is, they have this sort of status with every body from every music sub-culture. They wait just long enough between albums that when they do, its a big deal and everyone goes at least semi-crazy in buyign it up. The they do the tour around the world with a cool show, in big venues. If they pumped them out fast they would run the risk of making some shitfests as well.

Manowar should fire crap drummer Scott Columbus and boring-as-shit guitarist Karl Logan, and rehire kickass musicians Rhino and David Shankle. Then they should withdraw all copies of Gods Of War, stopping at every house begging for forgiveness for a hundred years of theft, rape and murder.

And Vibeke Stene should quickly fly over to my place while the wife is away and play naughty nudie games.

+1. I think the next album will be a little bit quicker in coming though, as between Aenima and Lateralus they had that whole thing with the lawsuit, and then between Lateralus and 10000 days Maynard was off with A Perfect Circle, who had become average at best by then. They have no distractions now, so I'd estimate the new one in 2009 (10, 11...)

You might have a point, but it seems like they released Lateralus, toured for it for a yaer and a half or so then spent a year and a half writing/recording 10,000 Days with 2 years in between doing nothing. Lazy bastards :P

I'd like a new Tool album in 2009 instead of 2011 because while I really liked 10,000 days it is wearing out on me quicker than Lateralus did...and they don't need 2 years off.
