Basically, you should just check out everything I listed, like Cloud Rat, Nails, Despise You, and Touché Amoré.

Stefan's, actually.
I'm amazed there's almost no thrash in my charts, whereas it's the genre I listen to the most these days. Thing is, I seldom play the entire album, and often switch between bands. Hence the no-show. Amusing.

I think they'd be more fun to read if people did descriptions or reasons why they like the band or smth.

One can never get these lists accurate. There are always bands that will be missed and then remembered again as other people post their list. I can definitely add about 6-7 more to my list.

Top 20 (according to Last FM) since january 2007:

1 - John Zorn
2 - The Beatles
3 - Rush
4 - Serge Gainsbourg
5 - Genesis
6 - Fish
7 - John Coltrane
8 - Peter Gabriel
9 - Jacques Brel
10 - Steve Hackett
11 - Uriah Heep
12 - Jacques Higelin
13 - Emilie Simon
14 - Yes
15 - XTC
16 - Thin Lizzy
17 - Queensrÿche
18 - Judas Priest
19 - Queen
20 - Peter Hammill

It certainly is a more fitting one than the 6 months recap. Still some bands I haven't listened to in a long time are still here.

I haven't really been listening to much metal this year. I was trying to make my top ten list for the year a couple days ago and I was pretty surprised by the lack of metal. No particular order besides Beardfish being one.

Beardfish
Protest the Hero
Trap Them
Trophy Scars
Devin Townsend
Spock's Beard
Converge
The Dillinger Escape Plan
DevilDriver
SubRosa
Andrew Jackson Jihad
The Skull Defekts
The Dear Hunter
Flying Lotus
Tokimonsta
Daedelus
Teebs
Gang Gang Dance
M83
Mono/Poly

Somebody with decent tastes given the first half of the list and the flylo and daedalus mentions. Don't recognize the other bands in the second half. Oh, Dear Hunter is kinda legit.

I'm just some random guy from Kansas. I've followed the site for a long time, but don't post very often. Mainly just read the reviews.

Thank you. Most of the artists at the bottom of the list are signed to Flylos label. Can't seem to get enough of the L.A. beat scene recently.

This is a rough estimation of my top 20 all-time favourite bands, in no particular order, metal and non-metal:

Top 10:
Christian Death
Theatres des Vampires (primarily LV era)
Cradle of Filth
London After Midnight
Marilyn Manson
Pet Shop Boys
Dead or Alive
The Smiths
Radio Werewolf
Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows

Suspiria
Squid
Moonspell
My Dying Bride
Bauhaus
Burzum
Darkthrone
Satyricon
Dimmu Borgir
Joy Division

I know listing Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir, along with the most popular Norwegian acts, only makes me look like a noob when it comes to black metal, but I can assure you that that's not the case. These bands have simply provided me with a wealth of enjoyment and satisfaction over the years so naturally, I feel obliged to list them.
