I dunno, I just kinda keep an eye out to see who's coming to town, and if I like them enough, or if someone asks if I wanna come along, I go to see them.

I think it'd be super cool to see Godspeed You! Black Emperor, though, even if they are on an indefinate hiatus. :(

Death and Possessed together in 1988.

Possessed are still going strong for what I can recall, I went on their myspace not too long ago and they are still playing shows.
Not bad for old timers like them, wish I could say the same for Death.

Yeah but to see Possessed back in the 80's would be much better than seeing them now. The whole wheel chair thing is just weird.

Oh I do. But it would still be weird to pay and see a guy sitting in a wheelchair trying to headbang. He's lost his voice to. Not that he ever had an amazing one, but his old growls fit the raw music perfectly. Now he just sounds off.

My wife and I are very excited to see that Primal Fear are headed to the USA this September. We've never seem them and my wife is a big PF fan. We're probably going to drive up to the Virginia area to see the show @ Jaxx. :dio:

I could go on and on mentioning bands I'd really like to experience live but here's my favourites:

Bands I would love to see today:

Iron Maiden (best live-band today)
Dio (his voice is still as strong as it was 30 years ago in my opinion)
Blind Guardian
Axxis (from Hard Rock to Power Metal... these guys are awesome)
Kamelot

Bands I would have loved to see in the past:

Iron Maiden (1988, when they were at the top of their game)
Pyramaze (2006, with Lance King)
Masterplan (2005, with Jørn Lande)
Edguy (2004, touring for their absolute best album IMO)
Dio (1987, with a set-list consisting of nothing but classic Dio)
Lost Horizon (2003, with Daniel Heiman)

There are loads of bands i'd want to see, but cannot because of my tinnitus, metal shows are just too loud for me

Since i got Tinnitus after attending the Unholy Alliance 2008 Tour gig here in Norway, i came to the conclusion that my ears clearly not meant for loud metal shows, sad, but that's the way life is, life is a fucking bitch and then you die. Hopefully someday in the future somebody will come up with a cure for tinnitus and i can finally enjoy the sweet sounds of silence. People take silence for granted and blast their ears with insanely loud music without thinking about the consequenses, of the damage on they inflict upon their ears...If i were to someday know silence again, i would never take it for granted...enjoy your silence people, and never take it for granted, you may find yourself in my position. End of speech....

No, it never went away, i have had tinnitus now for going on 7 months now, the 7th month anniversary will be on the 24th of this month...I'm handling the whole tinnitus this better now than say...3-4 months ago...My ENT doctor says it will get better with time, well..the tinnitus won't get better but my brain's ability to ignore the sound will get better, as long as my unconcious is percieving the sound the sound to be a threat it will the focus on the sound instead of phazing it out, kinda like the way you tune out the humming sound of a refrigerator or the sound of a fan going etc. If i'm able to get to that stage i think my quality of life will be greatly improved, that is my goal anyway, to completely habituate to the sound.

If you wear earplugs, you should be OK. I got tinnitus from either seeing Tool, or a local show I went to a month or so after the show. Since then I've worn earplugs to all the indoor shows I go to, and it's gotten better, although I've only been to two or three shows. Can't remember the last time I noticed it, actually.

That sucks, man, sorry to hear it. :(

Ever since I got a weeks worth of tinnitus from that Converge show, I've been a bit more laid back in my concert-going habits. I don't wear earplugs, I just keep my distance from the stage so that it doesn't blast my ears to hell and back.

Ditto. I can't stand white noise, so it'd be especial torture for me.

It's not Possessed. It's the Possessed singer with Sadistik Execution behind him.
