Bon Iver - Woods
Such a lovely use of an overused vocal effect.

More Than a Thousand - Vol.IV Make Friends and Enemies

One of the albums of the year for me so far!
For those who don´t now More Than a Thousand is a metalcore band from Portugal.

Incredible album, trust me.

I like how Trapt is fine with it if you listen to actual fascist music, but Tea Party-related stuff is eeeevil.

I am not a part of The Tea Party. I just like the album.

We were just talking about ideology in music and whether you can look past it to just dig the music and this is definitely some Tea Party worship.

Quote:
The answer to 1984 is 1776!
We are agents of free humanity
And we are here to stand against your tyranny!
END THE FED!
END THE FED!
END THE FED!
END THE FED!

Quote:
Watch your step around me
I'm trying to live free
Push too far
We will strike, like a snake coiled up in the night

He quotes Big Tom J who was quoted by John Wilkes Booth who Timothy McVeigh quoted:
Quote:
Every now and then we see
The tree of liberty must be refreshed
With the blood of patriots and tyrants
Is Schaffer drinking the kool aid and seriously buying into domestic terrorism along the lines of a tea party agenda or is this just a themed album? The band name leads me to ponder. I doubt he is citing Jefferson's original intent of overthrowing colonialism in America?

I just realized this chain of logic:

Tom J > John Wilkes Booth (southern confederacy supporter, automatically a supporter of slavery in my book insofar as he opts for freedom of states from the fed. gov't over human rights) > Tea Pary (opts for freedom of states in the more moderate sense and freedom of individuals unhindered by a fed. gov't with broad oversweeping mandates, i.e. labor/human/gender rights, hates black people)

OMG I'm drinkin' the conspiracy theory logic.

The thing about the racist and fascist stuff which I do listen to (Arghoslent sparingly to not at all, Eldrig ditto the last comment and ~Drudkh) I could listen to tons of other things to get my quasi-Iced Earth feeling on to. The bands which I mentioned are kinda eclectic and unique unless I'm mistaken.

Burzum - Filosofem

Hadn't listened to this in so long I'd forgotten how much I love it.

Nevermore - Obsidian Conspiracy.

I know a lot of people hate this album but I somehow doubt that other than The Godless Endaevor they actually listen to much Nevermore.

Listen to Obsidian Conspiracy and then Politics of Ecstasy, Dead Heart...In A Dead World, In Memory, Dreaming Neon Black or Enemies of Reality and you'll realise that Obsidian Conspiracy flows quite well in the context of this album.

The songs are well crafted and really remind me of some of their earlier less tech, more hook orientated stuff (especially the In Memory EP). It's probably my favourite album of 2010.

Godless Endaevor was an aberration. Sure it was brilliant and one of my favourite albums but I think it was a one-off, a fluke.

Wrong. I have all of their albums. And I quite like DNB and Dead Heart.

I've heard all their albums too and didn't really like The Obsidian Conspiracy although on returning to their older stuff I didn't like those too much either.
