Thinking Angel is "a good song" is a step too far in my books. Still, welcome to MR, non-Stefan.

I wouldn't go so far in saying that Nickelback is good, but I'd rather listen to a whole Nickleback album than one Poison song.
But it's like comparing a turd with another turd really.

There is NO WAY it's stefan. Since Warfleloup has been here, I have agreed with his opinions and tastes on three or four occasions already. That never happened once with stefan...fuck he was annoying.

I think that rock music as a whole is in decline in Australia. Most of the music that is played at festivals or on the main alternative music station Triple J is indie-pop, hip hop or electronica.

I don't think punk was ever popular at least since the 1990's in Australia unless it was American endorsed pop punk ala Greenday or Blink 182. The "punks" that I've met here in Australia generally have never heard of say The Exploited or Sick Of It All. Some did like the Sex Pistols and Dead Kennedies.

Rock music actually gets played more on the mainstream radio stations though these are classic bands ala AC/DC, KISS (Platinum era), Queen, Dire Straits, INXS etc or one hit wonders ala Warrant's Cherry Pie.

Metal doesn't get played much at all and is relatively ignored at festivals other than Soundwave which is mainly the commercial side of it.

However the metal guys are a big sub-market and concerts by international bands are well attended. Even local gigs had a good turnout.

Swedish style rock ala Backyard Babies, Hellcaopters, Peepshows etc was popular when I was younger though I don't know nowadays as I am out of the loop. The Vines were the only thing to come out of that as well as the posers that are Jet. Both bands were of poor quality compared to what was actually happening in Melbourne.

I think it's funny how you guys think everyone who comes in here and starts posting in a big way is Stefan.

It has been extremely rare in recent times for new posters to suddenly post like there is no tomorrow.

I've been reading the forum for a while before registering so to take the "temperature" of the place. Once I've seen this was a metal forum with open minded people I thought I could let it go "full gas"...
I don't know who's that person you're comparing me to but he seems to have left a trace so I'm flattered you think I'm him but, no, sorry guys, I'm just poor Chris who's trying to fit in and have a little fun on the internet.

He can't be Stefan, he likes NBA basketball and I think football (American).

It is possible for non-Americans to be into American sports, as zany an idea as that sounds.
