There is nothing wrong with it, its essentially thrash just played brutally with deeper vocals and more complex bass lines. Its a classic album

So, like, I don't know how or when it happened, but it turns out I love death metal.

Good buys thrash, all of them are quality albums, though the newest Nile didn't register with me.

Also Omens Last rites is kicking my ass

Heh. Glad to join, though its gonna cost me more than I can afford. I don't do anything small scale. I've already bought 8 discs in two weeks.

Really? I'm admittedly no expert on brutal death (yet), but I'm fucking loving it. It's my first Nile album, maybe that's a factor. I also just bought Suffocation "Blood Oath" and I like Nile more than that.

So far though, deicide is my favourite with immolation close behind.

Can't fault you for that. The Stench of Redemption is a modern classic if you ask me.

I also got To Hell With God, which I posted on the previous page, and I like it almost as much. Besides the songs being quite good, the production job is epic. Brutally heavy, crystal clear and yet somehow still jagged and rough in all the right ways. It sounds fucking great.

I remember a few months back when you wouldn't touch death metal with a 10 foot pole.

Anyway, picked these up yesterday:

I wouldn't listen to Steve on Nile.

Though since it was your first of theirs, I strongly recommend 'In Their Darkened Shrines', which I feel was their very best.

For some reason, Serpents of the Light was always my favorite. So damn catchy.

Yeah, it was you telling me to buy scream bloody gore about a year ago that got me started. Then I got leprosy and spiritual healing (i already had human). Then I moved away from it all together for a while and then when I got atheist - Jupiter and the new deicide a couple weeks ago I suddenly realised I loved it.

That is one high-def picture of that Destruction cover art. I just studied it for about five minutes.
