But music sounds way better when you're high.

I'll have to go with hip hop here. There has not been a single song that I have ever liked out of that genre but I don't think hating a whole genre has a point too. There might be a band to change my mind out there.

God what a pointless thread!

I think we have a new WinterIsComing on our hands...

Pondered that as well.

And I don't really hate any style of music, because when I don't like it, I just won't listen to it. The only thing that annoys me are people who are big fans of a genre I don't like and HAVE TO say to me that the particular genre is teh best!1!1!!!1 and start raving with reasons why it's the best.

On a sidenote: I can really enjoy country(yeah, I said it, sue me) and electronica, techno, drum&bass(!!). It's just good music when you go out, and some bands are equally brilliant to listen any time of the day. Hmm, maybe i'll start a techno/electronica/drum&bass thread. Those genres are really being neglected, nobody even bashes them.

I vote for pop-punk, because I don't consider it a genre, more a sub-genre of watered down real punk (I love bands like Bad Religion, Nofx, Rancid).

I don't like rap or country, but I just don't hate it.

I'm not sure if emo is a genre, it's more a "type of person" than a real musical genre.

I've actually met a person who said Pain of Salvation was emo, because of some of the lyrical content.

Nope. I'm too much of an indifferent asshole to care about one's everyday problems, without the music to back it up at least.

The music's the main reason I was able to get into them. The beats are simply the best I've heard in rap.

and you're lucky you can't understand the lyrics...
And the worst thing is that in my town ALL clubs and most of bars play that kind of music. So now most metalheads hang around in jazz bars.

Yes, I can hate that kind of music (and also the very similar songs that used to sound in pakistani restaurants).

You don't like Qawwali? C'mon Qawwali is so awesome. Nurash Fateh Ali Khan is an amazing singer. I used to enjoy listening to it while playing Diablo I & II.

It's a tie between rap/hip hop... Whatever, and pop punk or pop rock... Whatever.

Yes, in fact I do find this to be funny. And what do you mean Zad? I've never talked about hos and bitches, a women is a women, some are more promiscuous than others but I totally respect them, I just find it hard to maintain a stable relationship so I prefer to have fuck-friends, I don't like the rap and hip-hop mainstream mentality of making music just for the money and worshipping the money above everything else. As for Nu-Metal I just forgot to add it that's why I said feel free to say it if there's another type of music you hate. And when I'm talking about emo I'm talking about bands like My Chemical Romance, Bullet For My Valentine, Tokyo Hotel, Gayest Band On Earth, etc..

None of the bands you listed as being emo are emo, MCR are pop-punk, BFMV are metalcore, Tokyo Hotel are pop-rock, and I dunno if 'gayest band on earth' a band or a joke by you. The bands just take on the emo fashion, and that is all that is 'emo' about them.
