Considering Arve Isdal and Frost were involved, it was certainly possible.


Arve Isdal seems to be more of a supporting player based on what he does in Enslaved. Kinda the same with Frost really.

Even those talents couldn't overcome the jerkiness of Shagrath and king of course!

Also the new Skyforger was disappointing.

Adding to the list of Cephalic Carnage and Death Angel, The Obsidian Conspiracy is another album that is complete shit. Dane is an incredible vocalist but he sounds the same in every song, and even when I started to enjoy "Moonrise" the riffing was just dull and repetitious every song that same weak groove riff. The solos were decent but I honestly dont remember many of them, what a disappointment especially considering how powerful "This godless endeavor was" 2/10

Right, I completely forgot about the Nevermore it was so uninspiring. They should have just broken up after tGE.

Let's face it, Nevermore always put out mediocre records that had a handful of amazing and groundbreaking work, the new album is no exception. Some great stuff, some stuff that takes way too long go start to enjoy and some stuff that sucks. This Godless Endevour was such a departure from that and was firing on all cylinders. It wasn't perfect either. The new album saw them return to their roots where only half the songs are as good their reputation warrants. A lot of people expected the exception not the rule, so the album was a disappointment to them and a par for the course for others.
