Fuck emos. Fuck Green Day. Jesus, I've been struggling for 3 months and I've got a lot of pent up anger inside me. I need an outlet and I want to beat up an emo.

It's funny how a lot of emo is starting to sound like prog/power metal but metal fans still hate it :D

What is wrong with you? You say some of the most idiotic things.

I agree with noodles here I rather Listen to the new My Chemical Romance than listen to Dragon Force. The Black parade is simply one of the best albums of the year.

What is wrong with me? Music is what it is, my friend. Just because you dislike a band does not mean your definition of what they are is correct.

Are suggesting HIM are not a metal band? No? What are they, then? Green Day is not a legendary band? No? What are they, then?

Idiotic is not being able to separate your dislike for something and the definition. You dislike HIM so the mustn't be metal! You dislike Green Day so they mustn't be a legendary band! THAT is idiotic.

Again, HIM is a Hard Rock band. The music they play has far more in common with Rock than it does with Metal.

OK, they're a rock band. Then so is Beseech, For My Pain, The Eternal, Poisonblack, latter day Paradise Lost, etc.

Yeah, I'd say later day Paradise Lost is more Rock than Metal. same with modern day Anathema. I don't listen to the other bands listed.

Well, I won't argue with someone calling HIM a goth-rock band. They're surely not emo.

Are you kidding me? Do you have any idea when Green Day began their career? Trend-hopping? How about trend-setting.

Green Day have been around since the late 80s! They haven't changed their style as musical trends shifted; except for the album Warning—which added a bit of rockabilly to their sound—which isn't a very radio-friendly-conscious move—and two acoustic songs, they've played the same style pretty much their entire career. And they've stayed relevant without compromising their sound by "trend-hopping." Yes, my friend, Green Day are a legendary punk band. Educate yourself.

Then what do you call the eyeliner, black hair and tuxedos??? And Green Day were only ever relevant when I was 12 :P

Green Day are not legends. Sure, they've sold alot of albums, but there is a difference between being popular and being legendary. A legend will be frequently discussed in 20 years. Favorably or not, they will be discussed and debated. Green Day will be a historical afterthought in 20 years.

well noodles I am agreeing with you which is a nice change of pace way to go. Bands can change their image to conform and not there sound. Many bands do that now a days remarkably I hate bands who do that.

Hi. In three years it will be 20 years. You think they'll be forgotten by then?

And, noodles, when you understand the music business, you'll understand why in PHOTOS and VIDEOS a band may have on eyeliner and tuxedos. It means nothing.

They are still around, selling albums. So? Alot of other bands that aren't legends do the same thing. They have been consistent at what they do, but legends aren't legends for being successful. There is much more to it. There's no serious controversy to make it happen. There's not out-of-this-world talent to make it happen. There's nothing that stands out other than solid pop success, which does not a legend make on its own.

Now, if a band member had committed suicide at the apex of their success, that would be a different story.
